Hi everyone,
On Friday (August 26, 2016) we're offering a free doll clothes pattern from Karen Wadsworth of Forever 18 Inches as a special one-day only event rather than having the "normal" Freebie Friday voting. We'd love to have you help us spread the word and be sure to get your copy!
More About Karen Wadsworth and Forever 18 Inches, (in her own words).
I've always loved dolls. My tenth birthday present from my mother was an honest-to-goodness sewing basket filled to the brim with supplies, and a Barbie pattern. I was in heaven! I sewed throughout my high school years, and then began again when my great nieces received American Girl dolls. My teenage sons were horrified that their mother was playing with dolls. During that time I also discovered Liberty Jane patterns. Wow--stylish, detailed patterns for dolls with fantastic instructions and a beautiful fit! Before I realized what was happening I was designing my own patterns. Partnering with PixieFaire as a seller and designer has been such a fun adventure! I'm grateful to those of you who have become customers and friends along the way. This pattern is my thank you to all of you--enjoy!
More information about the pattern:
The decade of the 1960s was ushered in with one of the youngest and most elegant First Ladies in recent American history. Jacqueline Kennedy set a style standard that included iconic design and deliberate simplicity. Pillbox hats, Chanel suits, and pearls were all elements of her personal style. The Forever 18 Inches Campaign Jacket pattern pays homage to her and the "Camelot" years of the early 1960s.
The Jacket features include authentic Sixties detailing such as contrast binding, a cropped length, and pocket detailing. Choices for variation include two types of pockets, two sleeve lengths, and an option for an open Jacket Front not meant to close. Best of all, with only three main pattern pieces and no lining it's simple and relatively quick to make. The contrasting binding uses an easy and elegant Hong Finish for maximum customization potential and minimal bulk. The Jacket closes with decorative button-covered snaps, and is designed to pair with other Forever 18 Inches Sixties patterns: The Good Vibrations Sixties Dress, the Scarf Top and Stirrup Pants pattern, and the Timeless Schoolgirl Skirt. Finally, to finish an outfit off with an authentic Sixties flair, a bonus pattern for a triangular headscarf is also included.

Thank You for a beautiful Pattern
Love your design Karen. It’s so right for my taste – can’t wait to make it. I remember the era well. Thank you for offering this pattern.
Beautiful pattern, thank you!
Jackie Kennedy was the most elegant first lady I believe of all time. Her clothes always looked so perfect for a first lady. It will be so much fun to be able to make this for my great great niece. Too bad she isn’t old enough to understand who Jackie Kennedy was. She is oh 5.
