"I have always had a love of sewing and have been fascinated with manipulating fabric since being taught by my gran from around the age of 7. In more recent years, besides general sewing, I have made and taught quilting and dabble with crochet and knitting. My love of dolls was put on hold for many years until several years ago when I happened upon Pixie Faire’s site and fell in love with all the outfits and beautiful dolls.
Living in South Africa, good quality dolls are not readily available, but a month after venturing into the doll world, my son surprised me with my beautiful AG Julie and with much encouragement from him, my late husband and awesome friends, I started designing dolls’ clothes. My pattern catalogue and doll family have both grown over the years of what has been the most wonderful experience and which I wouldn’t trade for the world."

Q: What inspired your brand name?
When my son gave me my first AG – Julie – I referred to her as Miss Muffett and took it from there.
Q: What’s your favorite sewing tip?
If you’re having a spot of bother with a particular step, walk away. Have a cup of coffee, walk around your garden, play with your pet. Whatever you do, relax. When you get back to sewing, the problem is usually a lot easier to face.
Q: Is there a new hobby, craft, or skill you’d like to learn?
As me and my serger are not on speaking terms, I’d really like to get to know how to use it (without tying myself up in knots). I’d also love to get back to working on some new stained glass pieces.
Q: Who is your favorite doll?
As far as my favorite doll is concerned - Julie will always be my first love as my son gave her to me, but I don't think she is right for all my designs.
Q: What’s your favorite flower or plant?
Being an avid flower arranger, I’m very fond of all flowers and plants and have several favorites – roses, wisteria, jasmine, gladioli, mimosa and magnolias to name a few.
Q: What would you say is the most daring or exciting thing you’ve ever done?
I’m not very good with heights, so taking the cable car to visit the statue of Christ the Redeemer on Corcovado in Rio was terrifying, but absolutely beautiful and so worth it.

My favorite is the unicorns and sugar plums pattern. I was able to create my own unicorn with this pattern and it turned out perfect

It’s hard to choose a favorite pattern – I have quite a few of them. I love the versatility – she’s got patterns for everything! Among my favorites are Time to Celebrate and Rainy Days Are Fun Days. Thank you for all the great patterns!
I love the Parisian Chic pattern. It was one of the first doll dresses I ever made, and it turned out lovely because of the great instructions.
I love them all, made quite a few, but I love the whimsy of Soda Jerk and Nurse Candy.
Always unique patterns!
So many favorites! But I am very intrigued by the Little Equestrienne” historical costume, it includes many techniques that I am not familiar with and I love that it is a complete outfit.
I like nurse candy.
I have most of the patterns and love them all but my favorite has to be Cherry Blossom. I love hand sewing beads and embellishments to the jacket and trousers.
My two favorite patterns are Time to Celebrate and Rivieria Romper. I have Time to Celebrate in all the sizes. I made Riviera Romper for one of my AGAT dolls and withe sunglasses she reminds me of Audrey Hepburn. There are many more I want to try.
Very hard to choose, but I love Fairy Tale Fantasy.
Anything Parisian works for me

I’m crazy about Little Miss Muffett patterns. The fit is always perfect, and the patterns are easily customizable for use with a wide range of fabrics. I’d be hard pressed to choose my favorite pattern. I’ve never made one that didn’t turn out great. They’re a hit with little girls.
Hard to choose but Summer Holiday is my favorite.
I love that you offer such beautiful clothes patterns for all the different size dolls. Also that you love them enough to share with others.
There are a lot of patterns that I like but if I had to pick a favorite I suppose the Provence pattern be it. It looks exactly like the Lolita dress I sometimes see on Pinterest

They are all so cute, since I am in summer mode I would say Sailing Away is a favorite. Although summer is the time for travel and the Parisian outfit would be perfect for a trip abroad.

Sailing Away 18” is a perfect way to sail into the summer. The trimmed-hooded swim cover is adorable sling with the beach pant cover up. The designer has a large Summer selection of outfits to select from. Each prettier than the next for 19” dolls.
My favorite pattern is Snow Angels. Lots of fun details in her designs. Looking forward to getting the Parisian Chic Dress Pattern.
Too many great patterns to choose from. What I really appreciate about her patterns though is that the dolls look good in their outfits when resized to fit other dolls.

Margie is wonderfully skilled and creative, and it’s hard to choose just one favourite design! I’m drawn to “Faerie Web” because of the ethereal quality of the fabric and pattern, and also because my Nanny always spelled “faerie” the old way – with an “E,” instead of “fairy.” I would LOVE to win the Parisian outfit for my AG Grace doll, whose story is linked to Paris! My favorite pattern would have to be the Faerie Faye dress pattern. I used that pattern to make a First Communion outfit for each of my two great-nieces.
I’m a huge fan of Margie’s patterns, particularly anything that’s steampunk or punk rock-ish. Though Miss Junior High and Snow Dancer (actually all the snowy/wintry patterns!) are adorable too! Keep on doing what you’re doing – we can’t wait to see what you come up with next! :)

YOU REALLY EXPECT US TO CHOOSE JUST ONE! HA! HA! Like others, I LOVE them all. I have LOTS of Little Miss Muffett patterns. Shepherdess, Lacy Days, Provence….ALL different, but unique. Rainy Days was one of the FIRST patterns I purchased on Pixie Faire. I DO like the frills, the ruffles, the DETAIL she puts into her patterns. All I can say is: KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, Margie! One of my very first patterns I ever made was “Time to Celebrate.” I’m now making a Wellie Wisher “Edward Fall.” My granddaughter is going to be given a WW this year for her birthday as a little sister to her AG doll. Love your patterns!
