Get to know Laurie (in her own words): I was inspired to sew at a young age by two of my aunts who sewed and crocheted every chance they had. I was impressed by the beautiful things they created for their families and themselves. One aunt taught me the basics of sewing and crocheting and how to sew doll clothes for my Barbie, Skipper, Tammy, and Pepper dolls. By the time I reached my teens, I was making clothes for myself. When my children were growing up, I made most of their dress clothes, some of their play clothes, and most of their Halloween costumes. I made several suits and sailor outfits for my two sons and matching hand smocked dresses for my daughter and her American Girl dolls. I enjoy making doll clothes for my Etsy shop, craft shows, and custom orders. I started publishing patterns with Pixie Faire in 2014. So far, I have a variety of patterns (including sports patterns) inspired by clothing children and teens wear.
Inquiring Minds Want To Know:
Q: What's your favorite food?
Laurie: Italian dishes made with fresh tomatoes, herbs, and fresh vegetables
Q: Coffee or Tea?
Laurie: Coke or green tea
Q: What inspired your brand name?
Laurie: My brand name is a combination of the first three letters of my youngest child’s first name and her middle name written as one name. She collected American Girls when she was growing up and was the inspiration for my hobby…making doll clothes and sewing patterns.
Q: What's your favorite book or tv show?
Laurie:I love historical fiction.
Q: What is your dream vacation?
Laurie: Any place where I don’t have to worry about a schedule or a deadline.
We'd love to hear from you. Leave a comment and tell us - which look is best! And be sure to thank Laurie and the Pixie Faire team for giving away such cute outfits!
Thanks, everyone!

Thank you Laurie, and the Pixie Faire Team! I voted for Skater Girl. Always difficult to choose between two cute outfits!
Both outfits are great! It was difficult to choose but I finally went with Skater Girl. Thank you for the great give away and wonderful patterns!
It’s always tough to decide which outfit is best because they are always so cute. Pixiefaire patterns are such top quality. Detailed instructions and well fitting pattern pieces.
They are both cute outfits, and any dolly would love to be seen in either! The shorts on preppy girl with the hoodie are very sporty, the placket on skater girl’s slacks are really made for moving. Thanks for the contest
Skater girl gets my vote.
