More About The Mix Up: This week we have a cute mix and match set that features the Dragonfly Fairy Wings made by Jerri Ellis, the designer of the Miss Cakes Closet patterns, as the prototype piece for the pattern! We've mixed it with several other Pixie Faire pattern designs to create two unique looks!
The giveaway includes:
- The Woodland Fairy Outfit - this outfit features the wings paired with a sweet princess dress made using the pattern hack in the Sewing Costumes course. The dress has a knit top, fold over elastic straps, and a soft flowing sparkle mesh skirt overlay. The look is accessorized with a pair of sparkly slip-on shoes (American Girl Brand) and a tiny little butterfly!
- The Fairy Princess Outfit - this outfit features the wings paired with a beautiful version of the Grand Supreme Pagent outfit made by Genine herself, and featured in the pattern! The outfit includes a corset style top accented with sparkly sequins and an off the shoulder ruffle. It's paired with a separate skirt with sequined fabric waistband and super fluffy organza ruffles. The look is completed with a tiny glitzy tiara, white flats, and ruffle lacy socks!

"Although born in California, I've lived in the beautiful state of Oregon since I was 6. I grew up in the county swimming in the creeks, playing in the wood and picking berries for school clothes money in the summer. And loving the costume movies of the 60s and 70s - how can anyone forget Liz Taylor as Cleopatra? Edith Head was my and still is my idol! With Bob Mackey a close second. As a voracious reader my Grandfather, who read 5-6 books at a time, introduced me to Anne McCaffrey and the Dragon Riders of Pern and Ursula Le Guin and the Earthsea books when I was about 12. This turned into a life long love of reading and history.

They are both really cute in their own way! This is a tough one because i love them both. But the tiara won me over on the fairy princess!
I like them both.
I think the Fairy Princess looks best in this outfit!! I do really like both of these outfits and they would mix and match really nice! I do think the Woodland Fairy outfit would be easier and quicker to sew! They are Just so cute!!

I voted for the fairy princess. All those frills and furbelows were exactly what I adored about images of fairies when I was a kid. I’d’ve LOVED having such an outfit for my dolls (and even recall drawing such an outfit for a paper doll, way back then. ) Thank you so much for the trip back in time and fantasy.
