Well, since my name is Mary Ellen, and my sister-in-law’s name is Mary Ellen, and my niece Julie has two daughter’s with strawberry blonde hair, I have to vote for the Mary Ellen doll. My niece Julie has been my special little girl from the day she was born, 9/18/1994. We always pretended she was my little girl. I always wanted a daughter, but never had one. She contracted cancer 8 years ago, when she was pregnant with her second daughter, Faith. The doctors wanted her to abort the baby, so she would have a better chance to live. But she refused. She waited until it was safe for Faith to be born, then had treatment. they thought they got it all, but it reappeared 12 months ago. She is fighting a losing battle, just trying to hold on as long as she can. But it has spread from her cervical area to her brain. Her 2 daughters, Madalyn and Faith, 10 and 8, don’t know how severe it is. But I have bought them wooden carved dolls of their mother and them, for when she is gone. The Mary Ellen doll has blonde hair like them. I think they would love this sweet little doll.

Maryellen wears it best! I especially love the dress, Laura. My adult daughter does historical re-enactments and I want to make a dress for each of our dolls from this pattern.
