Flossie Potter's "1980s Workout Wardrobe" is an iconic design for exercise wear. Its interchangeable pieces allow you to create many combinations. The leotard has long straps and low waistline; the "tee-o-tard" is an off-shoulder tee shirt that tapers and connects between the legs to keep it tucked in. The open-toed leg portions can connect to either the leotard or tee-o-tard to create the illusion of leggings underneath without the bulk of extra fabric or waistband, and it's made of stretch fabric which makes it very easy to put on and take off.
Accessories include very '80s stirrup leg warmers, wrist bands, and a headband.
Pair the Wardrobe with Flossie Potter's "Sports & Dance Bag" to carry all of your doll's necessities to the gym! These patterns are available separately or get the Workout Wardrobe/Sports Bag bundled together and save.
This 15-page PDF sewing pattern is a labeled as "Easy Plus" because it sews up quickly. Even less-experienced seamstresses can make it easily if they practice a zigzag stitch on stretch fabric.
4-way stretch fabrics such as Lycra® or poly Spandex®. Not for woven fabrics.
Combination Possibilities and Yardage
All pieces use 4-way stretch fabric, such as Lycra® or poly Spandex®, where a 4" piece stretches to 6". The toeless leg portions require 1/3 yd because of their height, so any combo of the same color with attached legs can be made from the same larger piece. The amount you need will depend on how many different colors you use.
