Braided Sandals 18" Doll Shoes

3   |

The Braided Sandals pattern is a fun, casual shoe design for 18” dolls such as American Girls. The design features two colors of vinyl or pleather that intertwine to create an original and comfortable shoe for your dolls. Or you can have both sides the same color for a more formal look.

The vinyl uppers can be topstitched to add a high-end look or if you leave out the topstitching then this pattern can be made with no sewing at all.

This PDF shoe pattern is compatible with the Pixie Faire Pixie Pack SHAPE1 Pre-cut soles  (WhiteBlackColor 1 , Color 2or Black Chipboard), and also with the Punch Place Plus (Craft Chameleon) acrylic soles, which are available in the Acrylic Shoe Soles and Heels Pixie Pack.  A separate set of pattern pieces has been provided for each sole option. Sole templates are provided for both styles, should you wish to cut your own soles from cardboard, craft foam, or any other suitable material you may already have on hand.

What are shoes without somewhere nice to keep them?  This pattern includes a bonus shoe box. There are two versions: one with a printed design and a plain one for you to use with craft paper or printed cardstock.

Recommended Fabrics:  Marine vinyl, vinyl, pleather. Some testers also made the sandals in denim and canvas.

Braided Sandals for AG

I love this pattern. It looked great with one color, but I loved using two colors for the contrast. I've made them a few times, and I always get compliments on them. They fit well, and they stay on the doll's feet.

Braided Sandals

Warning: Making these cute sandals may become addictive! I can’t stop. Help me! I’ve made several pair and the boxes. I’ve done one using the pattern as recommended and several variations with fabric following the pattern as a guide. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. You are only limited by your imagination as to what you can do with this pattern.

These are very easy to make and they fit perfectly. I am so happy with the pair I made, that I plan on making some more. You will not be disappointed with the results!
