This PDF pattern Includes instructions for using an invisible zipper or hook and loop in the back. Piping can also be added to the hem band. A very easy pattern that looks wonderful on the doll when finished. The pattern lends itself to many different patterns of fabric and looks great in all of them. I highly recommend this pattern
I made this dress first for a Haba doll and it turned out adorable. It is easy to make, although, I did sew the skirt together as one piece and the piping on to the skirt as one piece as other reviewers did. I definitely will be making it again for Wellie Wishers.
I have really enjoyed making this dress. The possibilities are endless for fabric combinations and I really like the results. I have found it easier to sew the piping on the bodice in one piece after the bodice side seams have been sewn as stated in Pat B's review. The dress fits wonderfully with our with out the zipper.
This is a very sweet dress for the Wellies. The instructions and pictures were clear. The dress was very quick to make .
This is a really cute pattern but I made several changes once I sewed my first dress. I taped the skirt pieces together and cut in one piece. I also sewed the front bodice piece to back bodice pieces before attaching the piping again in one piece. Then attached the skirt in one piece. I also attached the bottom piping and hem band in one piece. All in all this process is faster and cleaner. No mismatched piping or hem band at seams.
