So sweet and lovely, this beautiful Christening Gown features dainty pintucks on the front bodice with side pleats for added fullness. The short puff sleeves are gathered to the arm band using a Hong Kong finish. The long skirt has optional pintucks and inserted lace around the bottom. The bodice yoke is lined with an attached slip. Lace is added to the hem of the slip and peeks out below the dress. The pattern also includes instructions for an easy to make Bonnet. The back closure directions call for hook and loop tape, but snaps or buttons can easily be substituted.
Create a Christening Gown in Batiste or Rayon for a soft, delicate version. Use a cotton or cotton blend for a younger child. Even a colorful print version is loved by little ones playing with their dolls.

A beautiful Christening Dress for a Bitty Baby. It has lots of heirloom techniques with easy to follow instructions, like pintucks and insertion lace trims. I don't think I had to do any hand-stitching on this pattern with her time saving sewing techniques. What a great combination, to get a fast project that looks so good. Great fit on the dress. The bonnet is adjustable to fit on dolls with hair, too.
