I've used this pattern twice so far and I hope to use it again today while I sew. It's really easy to follow. The instructions are well written however there was one key thing missing. The hat has two styles and the figure A and figure B option A or B isn't added to the pictures at any point to show which is which in the beginning. I had to guess which brim I needed to create the hat I wanted. Which is why I didn't give it 5 stars. Everything else is awesome and easy to understand instructions. I made two hats both I used spray starch on the crown hat pieces (white cotton lining and blue satin outer) and after using crushed velvet for the brim I decided the second one needed interfacing on the inside as the first was rather floppy. The second hat brim stood up much nicer.
Very cute pattern, but I haven't actually made anything from it YET. I look forward to using it near future.
It was very fun to create this hat for my granddaughter. Not too difficult to create and fit the AG doll perfectly.
I have made this hat many times (20). I have used fleece, cotton, and wool, depending on the season and outfit. I've made it to go with jackets and coats, as well as with dresses. I've used different trims/bands to decorate it. I have always lined the hat for a more professional look. The pattern is easy to follow and it adds a lot to an outfit. It makes a nice accessory.
