I found the directions were good, and I liked the final skirt. I did change the fastener and used two snaps along the waistband instead so I could adjust the skirt, since we have a couple of American Girls and some Journey Girls. I did find that the skirt was a little tight on my late 90s Josefina, but it fits very well on my 2010s Truly Me doll, and with the added snap along the waistband, I can make it small enough to fit a Journey Girl without further adjustments. I used a fat quarter for the skirt, so I had to cut the length to make the ruffles slightly shorter, but it didn't make much of a difference in the end result.
I loved this pattern….it is small though. For My Generation dolls, I cut it 1/4 inch bigger on the sides, but it still needed about 1/2 inch more to completely wrap around to the proper place. It is still usable and adorable, but if I were making again, I would cut it bigger. Such a darling style.
Very easy to follow. What a great looking skirt when finished.
