Fifties Flirt 18" Doll Clothes Pattern

6 reviews   |

This dress and blouse ensemble is inspired by a design from the 1950’s, but can still be worn today for a fresh new look. The sleeveless dress has a full skirt that can be gathered or softly pleated at the waist. The bodice has a square neckline and is accented with trim made from a contrasting fabric. The dress can be transformed by adding the blouse which features short straight sleeves with a “V” cutout at the hem and a classic pointed peter pan collar. The bottom of the bodice has the same “V” cutouts accented with small bows and it buttons down the back. Add a wink and a nod and this wardrobe is sure to transform your doll into a “Fifties Flirt.”

Fifties Flirt

This is a wonderful pattern! i bought it because I made an outfit like this for myself when I was about twelve. The directions could have come from that pattern. Each step is explained, just like the old patterns used to do. Easy to follow and the results are just beautiful. I showed the outfit to my sisters and they too think that Molly looks fabulous in the outfit. Don’t be scared of the contrasting bands—they are quite easy to do and the results are dramatic. Maake this pattern for your doll!

Love this pattern

Everytime I think I'm not going to make another dress from this pattern, I get a different idea. Fit is fantastic!

Fifties Flirt 18"

I LOVE this pattern. I have already made 4 dresses and 2 jackets. All the dresses look different. I have made them from dressy to plain, and in between! Pattern pieces as usual fit perfectly. Thank you Pixie Faire!

Pretty Flirty

I love this pattern. I have only done the gathered skirt yet but found it went together easily. I'm strictly a middling sewer with the most basic type sewing machine and no serger but I had no trouble with this at all. This is a pattern I will definitely use again. The instructions on how to apply the trim was great and will use this method for other dresses. All together a great sewing experience. Please note I have made this for a Gotz Hannah doll who is slightly slimmer and taller than most 18inch dolls.

Cute dress

I got frustrated with the skirt and stopped and put it aside and went to another pattern for a V day dress. Why - I haven't figured it out yet. Will go back and redo to find out. I am a pretty good and experienced sewer. So far not crazy about the pattern.
