I didn't notice this pattern requires the use of Fold Over Elastic; something I had never heard of until this. It is not easily available, comes in limited colors and is expensive. I used bias tape in the length called for, gathered the fabric and stretched the tape. It worked fine. Also the pattern called for a knit fabric for the ruffles. I used regular woven fabric and hemmed the edge and it was fine. The idea for using a piece of card stock to measure and press the hem was good. Using iron-on interfacing on the edges made the finished piece more crisp looking. Instructions are very clear and the photos are excellent. I really like this squared off ruffle design.
I was happy to test this pattern and thoroughly enjoyed the unique idea of finishing neck and arms with FOE. It also was nice to add snaps for the back closing rather than the typical hook and loop closure. Take your time, read the instructions and in no time you will have an adorable top for your little lady!
