Gemma 18" Doll Clothes Pattern
The ‘Gemma’ Dress has a structured Corset-Styled Bodice with ruched ribbon accentuated Princess Seams, a ruched Bustier-Styled Neckline and an inverted Sweetheart hip-length Hemline which flows into the Center Front opening of the long Six-Tiered Skirt, with dramatic Lace & Chiffon Ruffles creating the flowing Train. The Dress is fully lined and closes at Center Back with Hook & Loop Tape.
This Intermediate PDF sewing pattern from Little Miss Muffett is designed to fit popular 18” soft-bodied dolls such as those shown in the photos and is available exclusively from Pixie Faire.
Suggested Fabrics: Fabric Used In Samples – Lightweight Chiffon backed with Satin was used for the Bodice and Skirt’s main construction. Lightweight Chiffon and Nylon Lace were used for the Skirt Ruffles. Pongee was used for the Dress Lining and ¼” wide Satin Ribbon for the Bodice Accent Lines. Lycra was used for the Opera Gloves. The Test Lady used Taffeta for her Dress Construction.

• Dress Main Construction – Bodice & Skirt Layers – Satin or Taffeta : 40” x 15”
• Bodice & Skirt Chiffon Ruffles – Lightweight Chiffon : 40” x 22”
• Lace Ruffles – Nylon Lace : 4 ¼ yds x 1 ¾” wide
• Dress Lining – Pongee or Lightweight Cotton : 26” x 20”
• Opera Gloves – Lycra / 4-way Stretch Fabric : 10” x 6”
Notions:
• Hook & Loop Tape for Bodice Center Back Opening : 2 ¾” x 3/8” wide
• Satin Ribbon for Bodice Accent Lines : 50” x ¼” wide
• Template Plastic or Card for Gloves : 3” x 5 ½”
Matching Thread, Erasable Marking Pen, Point Turner, Curved-nosed Embroidery Scissors (Optional), Craft Adhesive, Craft Scissors, Teflon™ Sheet / Press Cloth, Clear Tape, Masking Tape or similar, general sewing supplies.
A Universal Sewing Needle – 80/12; A Universal Stretch Needle – 75/11, a General Purpose Foot and a ¼” Foot, are used throughout the sewing process. (Optional) Rolled Hem Foot.
