I had no problem following the directions with the pattern. I used it for a ballerina and for an ice skater, adding a skirt to each.
I like the design of this leotard. It's cute and like the ones I've seen worn on television. The leotard when together well but I would have liked to have a scale guide on the pattern pages to be sure my printer is giving me the proper scale. I, also, would have liked the input of the designer on the exact measurement she used for seam allowances. The leotard I made from this pattern fitted my one granddaughter's "Our Generation" 18 inch doll okay with the seam measurement from the pattern. However, I know from experience the waist on my other granddaughter's "American Girl" doll is about 1" less and the fit of this leotard would be less than desired if I continue with my current seam allowance. I made one change with the pattern that others might like. I did not use velcro for closing the neckband in the back. Velcro snags and ruins the fine knit swimsuit fabric. I folded each side of the neckband back and stitched them into loops, with one loop threaded through the loop of a garter hook and the other neckband loop free to accept the hook of the garter clip. The garter clip is smaller but just like the bra hooks I have used over the years when making swimsuits. I really like Pixie Faire and what it is doing to educate both sewers and designers of doll clothes and provide us a forum to connect. Thank you for being there for us.
I love the pattern! It looks easy and fun to make. It downloaded just perfectly and I’m anxious to sew it up! thanks for making it available!
Made two of these for my nieces' daughter and they turned out really cute. For me the pattern was very easy to follow.
Can't wait till I make a fewer of these. So far all items I have gotten I think are excellent.
