Create an easy dungaree or shorts and knitted helmet for your 8 inch baby doll!
The dungaree (pants) / shorts are knitted flat, starting with the legs and joined together at the crotch to create the upper part. It has a back buttoned opening and also shoulder straps for easy dressing. You can knit the set using only one color or use two or more colors for that special look.
The helmet is knitted starting with the brim, knit the body of the helmet then bind off stitches to create the flap. On completion of the flap you need to pick up the stitches at both sides so together with the stitches of the flap it will create the neck band. Here also you can use different colors of your choice.

Recommended Yarns: Any 4ply, Fingering, weight 1 or any yarn to obtain the appropriate gauge. Examples used a very small amount of Stylecraft 4ply to complete the sets.
Testers used: James Brett® Baby 4 ply LUV® Baby weight 3 using US 1 (2.25mm) knitting needles to obtain the gauge
Supplies Needed:
- Yarn: Any 4ply, Fingering, weight 1 or any yarn to obtain the appropriate gauge.
- Examples used a very small amount of Stylecraft 4ply to complete the sets.
Other supplies:
- Straight knitting needles US 2 (2.75).
- Tiny buttons or pearls X2 for shoulder straps and 2 for back closure and x1 for helmet.
- Row counter or a pencil to tick off the rows as you knit.
- Tapestry + ordinary sewing needle.
- Small scissors.
- Ruler or tape measure.
