Inspired by the popular wrap shoes seen from brands like TOMS ® and BOBS ® Alpargata style shoes are all the rage! This PDF pattern, designed to fit Journey Girls dolls, is designed to use woven cotton fabrics, and works with stripes, florals, polka dots, thin corduroy and much more.
Special Note - This pattern, by Liberty Jane, is designed to fit a Journey Girls Doll specifically and will not fit the standard 18 inch doll such as American Girl Doll. A Journey Girls doll is 18 inches tall but has a much slimmer body. You can see more info on our Doll Measurements page.
Supplies Needed:
-1/8 yard of fabric
-1/8 yard of lining (optional)
-2" of 1/2" wide elastic
-Ribbon for tags - two color in two widths
-Chipboard for soles (or thick cardboard)
-Sheet of white craft foam or cork - 2mm
-Steam-a-Seam product
-1/8 yard of 'Heat and Bond" (optional)
-Glue or Hot Glue (similar to 'Fast Grab Tacky Glue')
-matching thread
-5/8 yard of 1/4" wide trim (hemp/jute)
