Inspired by the popular wrap shoes seen from brands like TOMS ® and BOBS ® Alpargata style shoes are all the rage! This PDF pattern, designed to fit Journey Girls dolls, is designed to use woven cotton fabrics, and works with stripes, florals, polka dots, thin corduroy and much more.
Special Note - This pattern is designed to fit a Journey Girls Doll specifically and will not fit the standard 18 inch doll such as American Girl Doll. A Journey Girls doll is 18 inches tall but has a much slimmer body. You can see more info on our Doll Measurements page.

I just finished my first pair of Janes for JG, and they turned out cute. I didn't use the Heat and Bond / Steam a Seam product as it is not available my country. I was able to sew the areas where the pattern called for using the sticky product. Loved the tip about how to fit the toe. However, the shoes are really tight on Dana's feet and would be too hard for a young child to get on the doll. Still, I found the pattern easy to follow and I'm sure the fit will improve as my skill and familiarity with the pattern increases. Definitely worth adding to your pattern library.
