After I made the "Little '50s Dress" pattern, I realized that there just had to be a coat to go with it. So after a little research and a few walks down our family's Memory Lane, I knew that it had to be a swing coat.
This doll version, designed to fit 18" American Girl® dolls, has raglan sleeves, rolled cuffs, and a single button or frog closure. The coat is fully lined.
The PDF sewing pattern has step-by-step instructions and is chock full of supporting photos to help you create your own swing coat. It also contains summary instructions so you can save on printer ink by printing fewer pages.

This is a lovely coat, reasonably easy to make. You just have to follow the instructions carefully and take your time. But the result is really great and suits the dolls beautifully. Great coat. Thank you very much.
The directions were easy to understand and the fit was perfect.
I love this pattern! It was pretty easy to make and the instructions were great! It has such a professional look to it with the lining. The detailed photos in the instructions were so helpful. It is perfect for Maryellen!
This coat is easy to make . very good instructions for the full lining. Fits my older dolls as well as new.
Gives basic instructions used in tailoring. Cordoroy worked well with a lining. A fun project to use a big antique button. Can't wait to try it in wool with a beret.
