Mackenzie Dress 14.5" Doll Clothes Pattern

6   |

A sweet fitted sundress that's innocent-looking at the front but has a sun seeker's strappy back view, the Mackenzie Dress is just perfect for spring and summer.

The fitted bodice has a V-shaped dropped waist at the front, and a natural waistline at the back. The waistline is emphasized with optional piping to show off the shape.

The Mackenzie Dress has a choice of an A-line skirt (View A) or a gathered skirt (View B). The dress fastens at the back bodice with either hook and loop tape or snaps.

The fully lined bodice is quick and simple to make and the wide straps are easy to turn right sides out, which makes this an ideal pattern to build up your sewing skills, particularly when choosing View A with the simple A-line skirt.

This versatile pattern comes with a list of suggestions for taking the Mackenzie Dress pattern further; including a bonus step by step photo tutorial showing how to use the bodice pattern pieces to make a cute reversible top.

Once you have made one of these sweet sundresses you will want to make many more. The Mackenzie Dress pattern will fast become one of your Wellie Wishers™ doll’s favorite dresses.

Special Note:  This PDF pattern is designed to fit a 14.5 inch WellieWishers Doll specifically.

Mackenzie Dress for Wellie Wisher dolls

Simply adorable dress and a perfect fit! I used piping at the waist and it really made it pop! So many different looks can be made with lace, piping, and even machine embroidery! I simply LOVE it! Think I may try adding length to the skirt for a floor length gown! Might also try using a velcro closure at the neck in the back instead of the straps in back for the gown. I will have fun experimenting!

Great little dress!

Pattern was easy to use and read. Bodice is big enough for small embroidery. Willa looks cute as all sin in it.

First WW pattern

This was the first Wellie Wisher pattern I tested for Genine. I just loved the way the piping went in so smoothly. The fit is wonderful, and she looks so cute in this style. A must do for all doll clothes sewers.
