This pattern is best used with the Miskoswen (Misko) Horse pattern to add the elements of a Unicorn, wings to make a Pegasus, and to create an English saddle, reins and saddle pad. OR use this pattern to turn your favorite horse into a Unicorn or Pegasus. Sew-in or apply the accessories so they can be removed. For use with horses sized approximately 20".
Suggested Fabrics:
Felt or feathers for wings, faux leather for the saddle, leather cord for reins, saddle pad is best with fleece, knit, faux fur-backed suede
Supplies Needed:
- Wings Option 1: 4 felt squares, 3 yard package, 14 gage wire, 1/4 yard ultra firm stabilizer
- Wings Option 2: 1 bag 100 feathers 1 to 6”, 2 felt squares, 2 yard 14 gage wire
- Unicorn: 1/8 yard fabric
- Saddle: 1/2 yard fabric or leather, 1/8 yard ultra firm stabilizer, 1 square craft foam sheet, Handful of fiber fill, 2 ea 1 1/2 “ D-rings, 1 ea 1/2 “ O-ring, 1 ea 1” buckle, 2” hook and loop tape
- Saddle Pad: 1/4 yard fabric
- Reins: 1 1/2 yards of 3/16 “ leather cording, 4 1/2” O-rings, 14 ea 1/4 “ round metal spot, Optional: 1 ea 1” to 2” decorative metal adornment
- If affixing wings to a pre-sewn horse: 4 ea pant hooks or 2” hook and loop tape
