I upcycled a man's shirt, and love the result. The pattern goes together well, though I found the sleeves too long and took nearly a cm off the length of sleeves. The instructions explain how to make a looser fit, but I found it worked fine as it was, I just sewed a narrow seam allowance.
I ended up adjusting this pattern quite a bit: I added about 1" to the circumference otherwise the coat is too tight for layering, added shoulder darts to better contour shoulders which means that I also had to adjust the hood as it modified the circumference around the neck, I also found the sleeves a bit too long. The final coat looked good but I will be going back to my adjusted pattern when remaking.
This pattern goes together very quickly; will be making more....going to try it in fleece.
This was an easy coat to sew though I lengthened it to sew a coat for the 13th doctor for Doctor Who. I used flannel for the fabric.
