If you ever wanted to try your hand at making shoes for your WellieWishers™ doll, this is the pattern for you. It's a great beginner pattern. Minimal sewing, a little bit of glue, really cute shoes! It's also a great way to use up scraps from your stash. It only takes a little bit of fabric to make an awesome pair of shoes. And NO hot glue! You can make shoes to match every outfit! Your doll is going to need a bigger closet!
Special Note: This PDF pattern is designed to fit a 14.5 inch WellieWishers Doll specifically.
Recommended Fabrics: light weight cotton fabric such as quilting cotton or light weight tightly woven fashion fabric
-Fabric for shoe top: 9" x 4" light weight cotton fabric or light weight tightly woven fashion fabric. (From your stash: 4.5" x 4" square for each shoe)
-Fabric for shoe lining: 9" x 4" light weight cotton fabric or light weight tightly woven fashion fabric. (From your stash: 4.5" x 4" square for each shoe)
-Matching sewing thread
-Insoles: Thick craft fusible interfacing: 3" x 3". (The examples were made using Pellon® Peltex 71F single-sided fusible ultra firm stabilizer.)
Optional: Instead of interfacing, use cardboard and glue
-Soles: 2 mm craft foam: 3" x 3" section
-Thick, fast-drying glue such as Aleene's® Super Thick Tacky Glue or Fast Grab Tacky Glue
Fine point disappearing ink or water soluble fabric pen
Fine point chalk maker for dark fabrics
-Embellishments: Bows, beads, trim, narrow cording, elastic
-Optional: Small piece of coarse sandpaper or nail file to smooth foam edges
-For tabbed option: 11" of 1/4" ribbon
-For tabbed/ties option: 33" of 1/4" ribbon

I used the pattern and made a set of plain janes using fleece for the upper and felt for the lining. They turned out cute. Instructions were clear and easy to follow.
Love them. Especially since American Girl Dolls doesn't have any to buy. Make sure you watch the online tutorial. Really was a help. Suprised myself. I'm a cobbler.
