This sweet and feminine sweater is designed to fit 18" dolls such as American Girl® and other 18” dolls. It incorporates several special techniques that include a two-color cast on, scalloped hem, twisted braid detail and an embroidered bullion rose embellishment. There are two flower garland variations to choose from. The sweater opens down the front with three buttonholes for closure. I had a lot of fun with this pattern. There were several stitches that were new to me. The explanation and a tutorial on YouTube helped me get through. Excellent fit. I made mine in brown tweed, cream and brown. Surprisingly the style even looked good on a boy.
This is a beautiful sweater pattern. What really surprised me was that there's very little work to get this fabulous level of detail. Instructions and photos are very easy to follow. I was also surprised at how quickly I completed this sweater. This pattern has a template for use when blocking making it easy to get the correct shape and sizing (sometimes I tend to stretch out knitted items when blocking). Love love love this pattern. This is my new "go to" pattern,
Love this sweater!!! I found the video amazingly helpful, and learned a couple of new techniques into the bargain. I've knitted two already and am about to work on my third; it really is pretty.
