Haven't had a chance to make the blouse yet.
This is a soft flowing romantic blouse. It would go very well with the new Love Shack Fancy skirts. I made mine out of a lovely polyester silk. At first, the elastic button loops were intimidating, but I just went for it and they turned out perfect! I used 6mm beads for my buttons instead of an actual button.
I was looking for patterns to make my own versions of the new floral themed outfits just released by American Girl. This pattern came out just in time. Soft flowing collar and drape peplum was just what I wanted. I added a lilac floral ribbon at the waist, and little lilac buttons. I used a circle skirt (not included in this pattern) to complete the look. Next time, I'll use my expensive Liberty of London lawn fabric. I used Gutterman elastic thread for my thread loops. I'm not sure I would recommend this thread. One of my loops pulled out. I repaired this by making a non-elastic thread loop. It was easy, and I think it will be more secure.
As with all Doll Joy patterns this style is just a little unusal but striking. The clear directions and pictures make it easy to put together, the only thing tricky are the elastic thread button loops but the directions are very precise and easy to follow. A great striking look for summer wear
