Your 18 inch doll will be ready for the School Dance in her easy to make and fun to wear dress. Use colorful prints and solids and mix and match the front and sleeves to create a unique look every time you sew. Change the fabrics to match the seasons and your doll is ready for the holidays, back to school, Valentine's Day or Easter.
The School Dance Dress is an easy to sew pattern to make a long sleeved dress in three variations. Add elastic to the sleeves or leave it out for a fuller look. Choose the simplest version with a solid front (perfect for machine embroidery, heat transfer vinyl, or appliqué), or add a contrasting panel with simple, straight edges or a pretty, princess seam. BONUS: Instructions included for an attached bow, belt or ribbon to tie in front or back to embellish your dress and create your own style.
This classic but simple dress is very easily made from a quarter yard of fabric (quilter's fat quarters work great!) in a woven cotton or other lightweight fabric. Mix and match your fabrics and add trims for unlimited design options. Embellish your dress with embroidery, appliqué, heat transfer vinyl, buttons, bows, crystals, ribbon, trim, ric rac, lace, chain, beads, or any other fun trim you like! With a hook and loop tape closure in back, it's easy on and off for little hands. This pattern is also a perfect pattern for girls that want to learn to sew for their dolls to use to create a full wardrobe for their dolls, or for more experienced seamstresses to make a basic doll wardrobe with lots of options.

I love the design of the dress. it takes very little fabric and sews up quickly even with lots of pieces. My only issue is that the neck opening is too big. I hope you redesign it to fit closer to the neck. I love the versatility of the patterns. Thanks so much.
The first time I tried this pattern out, I didn’t realize it had so many pattern pieces to create different views. I cut them all out and then actually took the time to read the pattern and realized how many options it comes with! I have since created dresses from all the pieces I cut out and they are some of my favorites. I really love the diversity of this particular pattern.
Such a great pattern to use all your small bits of fabric
I love the simplicity of this pattern. It offers such a wide range of looks by varying fabric choice, color combinations, and sleeve variation. I Stitched this in a gray print with its bright stipe coordinating fabric as the center panel. It was so much fun to make. Love this little dress!
I love OH Sew Kat's patterns. The ease of them. The versatility of use of fabric and embellishments, make this pattern a clear winner for me. The instructions and clear pictures make it easy to sew up. I am excited to sew another one up. Then my girls will have new Easter dresses for their dolls, that can be worn all Spring.
