School Girl Dresses Pattern for AGAT Dolls

4   |

Two fresh looks for your Girl for All Time, or other slim 16” dolls. One for regular school days and one for picture day!

View A - Perfect for picture day at school, this dress has a sweet pin-tuck yoke with a peter pan collar. The puff sleeves are gathered onto a sleeve band edged with lace. The full skirt has two tiers.

View B - This dress can be made in many variations, for wearing any day of the week. It has a “bib” edged with trim, accented with a peter pan collar. The puff sleeves are gathered with elastic and the skirt is edged with a contrasting band.

I’ve provided instructions for two construction options in this PDF pattern - one to make your dresses “Fast and Easy” and the other to make it “Heirloom” quality. Both go together easily, and will look exactly the same on the outside. The difference is on the INSIDE. If you want to create a dress for play dolls, use the “Fast and Easy” instructions. If you want to create a dress that collectors will treasure, use the “Heirloom” instructions.

The Heirloom Construction features a lined bodice finished with lace. The bodice lining is hand-stitched to the sleeve seam, and the back is finished with buttonholes or snaps.

The Fast and Easy Construction dress goes together much more quickly. The bodice is lined, but the finished seams are exposed. The back closes with hook and loop tape.

Brilliant pattern. Already made it

Brilliant pattern. Already made it twice and can see a lot more in the future. Easy to follow, both heirloom and quick, and fits beautifully.

Beautiful dress!

The School Girl dress is beautiful! I made the Fast & Easy version of View B, but I cut the skirt at 26" instead of 36" for a less full look. I also added lace along the sides of the bib, sleeve hems, and in the skirt band seam. I love how the instructions have pictures showing each step along side the written instructions.

Versatile and timeless!

I love this pattern! I made version B, which is the fast and easy one, but want to go back now and make the Heirloom version. It's very well written, and the size is perfect. Fits my Matilda doll beautifully. The instructions are very well written, easy to understand and follow. A lot of thought went into this, and it shows in both versions.

Super fun and Easy!

I love that there are 2 different views and 2 different ways of constructing the dresses (the fast and easy way and the heirloom way). I made the view A bodice using the heirloom instructions and the View B skirt with the easy instructions. I couldn't be happier. The fit is excellent on both my Matilda and Clementine. The dress looks like it could be from Clementine's 1940's time period. Give this one a try, you'll be happy.
