Course Overview:
Sewing The Edwardian Bicycle Jacket - Pulling it all together! (Patterns available separately)
We’re thrilled to introduce the Sewing with Cinnamon & Friends course: the Edwardian Bicycle Jacket Sew Along, taught by the talented Shari Fuller, designer behind the beloved Thimbles and Acorns pattern line. This beautifully tailored jacket is designed to fit an 18-inch doll and is the perfect finishing touch to Shari’s growing Edwardian wardrobe collection.
This course is divided into three teaching weeks. Here’s how the month unfolds:
Week 1: Fabrics & Foundations
We’ll kick things off by choosing fabrics and gathering materials. Shari then guides you through the main body construction with easy-to-follow videos. You’ll wrap up the week by prepping the jacket’s main sleeves.
Week 2: Lining & Sleeve Assembly
Next, you’ll prepare the sleeve lining and learn how to attach the sleeves to both the jacket and the lining. This is where the jacket really begins taking shape, and Shari’s clear demonstrations make it smooth and manageable.
Week 3: Tailoring & Finishing Touches
In the final installment, you’ll machine-sew tailored sleeve plackets, attach the lining, and finish your jacket beautifully. You’ll also see how the jacket ties the whole Edwardian outfit together.
About The Curriculum: You will receive a PDF course guide with information and video download links. The content for the course is broken down into a four-part series, each with in-depth video instruction. The videos can be streamed online or downloaded for offline viewing.
