This overskirt has a cut away feature that gives it a lovely layered effect. The lining creates an interesting contrast effect with the folds of the pleats. The waistband snaps on the side, hiding the opening underneath the pleat. It is designed to be worn with Thimbles and Acorns 1870s Bustle Dress and can be worn with or without a bustle. It is also suitable to be worn with other Victorian or Steampunk styled skirts and bodices.

This is one of the optional skirt options to be used with the 1870's Bustle Dress. This is the option for the overskirt lined with a high contrast fabric. You can see the contrast in the folded pleats in the back. The whole pattern series is exceptional and gives totally different looks using the basic dress. Make sure you buy enough fabric to make all of the coordinating pieces. This particular option was a very easy sewing project.
