I love a versatile pattern that can be used to make a lot of different designs. Your doll will enjoy having a variety of cardigans and turtleneck sweaters of her own!
This pattern includes instructions for creating either a collared cardigan or a turtleneck sweater. There are four different fair isle designs included. The sweaters are worked from the neck down to cut back on finishing work at the end. Because all the fair isle is on the yoke, it's easier to dress your dolls, too!
This PDF knitting pattern is designed to fit 18" dolls such as American Girl®.
-Fingering Weight Yarn (1) in two to four colors. 1 skein for main color, 1/4 skein or less for highlight colors. I personally use Palette or Stroll from Knitpicks, which has 231 yards in a 50 gram ball.
-Two sets (or two pairs of circular) Knitting needles in US sizes 0, 1, and 2. (2, 2.25, and 2.5 mm)
-5-6 sets 4/0 snaps, or buttons if you choose to make buttonholes.

Great pattern. Very detailed with lots of options for reading the pattern and lots of pictures if you need them. You definitely get what you pay for. I do recommend you have some experience with knitting fair isle if you purchase this pattern, especially when it comes to increasing in pattern. There are lots of sweater patterns out there for 18 inch dolls but this one I think is one of the more beautiful designs made available to the public.
I get so many compliments about my knitting when Julie wears this sweater out. I wish I could post a photo on here. It is not my knitting that is great. The pattern is perfect.
What a great pattern, and so many options. The sweater came out as picture and fits perfectly. I haven't made the hat yet, thou I do plan to,
