Let's get started...
Supplies Needed:
-10” x 8” scrap of knit fabric
-Hair elastic
-Thread
-Scissors
-Sewing machine
Step 1: Cut two 10” x 4” strips of fabric with the stretch lengthwise.
Step 2: Fold strips in half lengthwise, stitch with a ¼ seam allowance.
Step 3: Turn strips RIGHT side out.
Step 4: Tie a knot in the middle of the elastic.
Step 5: Loop one strip through the elastic.
Step 6: Pin the ends together with the seams centered and facing out.
Step 7: Stitch with a ¼” seam allowance. Clip corners.
Step 8: Flip the strip and line the elastic with the seam, pin.
Step 9: Stitch with a ¼” seam allowance.
Step 10: Loop second strip though the first.
Step 11: Repeat STEPS 5-9 for other side.
You're all done! How cute is this?!?

I just love the hair band. My favorite doll hair tip is to keep my 6 year old away from my dolls, lol. And i keep a hat on them until I’m ready to use them. The hat keeps dust and such off of them while they are in their stands.
I bouinght a doll at a yard sale. a whole $ .50! Her hair was worse than a haystack! I got my laundry conditioner out and soaked her hair in it. got out my comb, and started straightening it out. It only took me an hour, but it was worth every minute. she is a beautiful doll now. with straight , shiny hair. smells good too!! I learned how to do a French twist in my own head. this was when I had long hair. It took me 4 tries, but I finally got it down pat. Hair looked great!!! I did have a book on styling, so I had that in front of me those 4 tries. glad I had it…………they help a great deal. better than going to the salon and spending all those bucks there!!1
Love the hair band! I use a little old fashion method for my dolls hair. I made them hair bonnets, which I use to cover their hair when I am fitting them for a new outfit or having them try on a finished one! I first either braid their hair or for straight hair, I put it in a pony tail with small rubber bands spaced a half inch all the way to the end then fit it into the bonnet. This has worked out really well! Thanks
I am old fashioned folks, just brush your hair with an old fashioned brush 100 times. You are all too young to remember that but, it does keep your hair healthy. As for this head band, I can see making this for my granddaughters (many AM Dolls) and a matching one for her!
