Let's get started...
Supplies Needed:
-10” x 8” scrap of knit fabric
-Hair elastic
-Thread
-Scissors
-Sewing machine
Step 1: Cut two 10” x 4” strips of fabric with the stretch lengthwise.
Step 2: Fold strips in half lengthwise, stitch with a ¼ seam allowance.
Step 3: Turn strips RIGHT side out.
Step 4: Tie a knot in the middle of the elastic.
Step 5: Loop one strip through the elastic.
Step 6: Pin the ends together with the seams centered and facing out.
Step 7: Stitch with a ¼” seam allowance. Clip corners.
Step 8: Flip the strip and line the elastic with the seam, pin.
Step 9: Stitch with a ¼” seam allowance.
Step 10: Loop second strip though the first.
Step 11: Repeat STEPS 5-9 for other side.
You're all done! How cute is this?!?

One of my favorite hairstyling tips for dolls is to always cover the hair when pulling clothes over the head, then to smooth with a metal comb & mist, if needed.
The best dolly hair care tip I can think of just now is to put her hair up in a pony tail when trying on cloths. Thanks Marilyn for the adorable headband and tutorial!
I don’t know if the tip is to be for human or doll hair but this works for both anyway. Always take your time while combing/brushing your hair. That’s the only way to be sure you won’t break or damage the hair. Start at the ends working toward the scalp to untangle as you go.
I love the head band and will make these for dolls and the little girls who love them so much too.
Oh, I like fabric. Forget my poor dolls, I want one for me! I never wore headbands but now that I wear hearing aids, there is no more “behind the ear” to tuck my hair behind so I am starting to wear them.
For doll hair, I find a good metal cat comb works wonders. They often have nice cushy handles and are cheaper than wig brushes.
