The campfire in the evening, the crisp mornings when no one is up, hiking the river. It is all great.

My favorite part of camping is getting to explore new places with my family. My daughter and I like to take a couple of our dolls with us and get pictures of our girls in some of the places we visit. Last summer we went to PEI and took pictures of her Maplelea girl Jenna, wearing her Anne of Green Gables outfit, and my American Girl Felicity, wearing her original meet dress, at Green Gables cottage and along the hiking trails at the Green Gables park. My daughter absolutely loved it.

My best time camping was when I’d pack the old stationwagon with all my supplies and the show dogs and hit the dog shows for the weekend! Had all my “comforts” from home-bed(mattress) coffeepot & food plus all the things for the dogs! I showed Lhasa Apsos and they don’t take up much room lol

I haven’t been camping since my kids were little, but last summer I was at a state park and at the first whiff of campfire smoke I was instantly nostalgic! We used to roast hot dogs, make s’mores and enjoy the great Michigan lakes and dunes.

My favorite part of camping is spending time with my family away from distractions
