Making Christmas chocolates & squares with my granddaughter Haley
My favorite holiday tradition is the big themed Christmas party my friends and I throw every year. Past themes have included Harry Potter, Gothic Victorian, Hunting Lodge, and Tiffany’s.
Growing up in a farming, Scandinavian community, the Baptist church we attended had Christmas Day service early in the morning. Like 6am. It was called Julotta. “Jul” in Swedish means Christmas and “otta” was before dawn. So cold on a Minnesota morning. We were tired from celebrating & opening gifts the night before. Good thing maxi dresses in the 70s were in style to keep us warm for church!
My favorite tradition is making treats with my children and then enjoying them as we sit and share them over great conversation.
My favorite holiday tradition is baking amazing sugar cookies and frosting them with buttercream frosting made with whipping cream.
