Free Doll Clothes Pattern (December 22nd) Help Us Decide!

Hi everyone,

On Friday (December 22nd) we are offering a free pattern by designer Katie Peterson. Katie is the talented designer of the Soda Pop Street brand. The winning pattern will be free starting at Midnight Pacific Time and free for one-day-only. If the pattern you voted for doesn't win, go ahead and buy it anyway as a way to thank Katie!

More About Katie, (in her own words): I started at a young age hand sewing creations for my American Girl dolls. My passion for sewing continued to grow when I received my first sewing machine. I soon began to start photographing my creations and looking for patterns. I discovered a whole world of handmade doll clothes. I was inspired to start my own doll clothes business.  From there, I began to create my own unique designs.  I enjoy turning the current fashions into doll size creations.  I have also expanded my interest in sewing into making custom dance leotards.

More About Each Pattern

Peplum Dress Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: This is a sophisticated looking dress for those more formal occasions for your doll. The peplum gives a nice contrast to the fitted top and straight skirt. The dress has a hook and loop tape closure in the back. The bodice is lined. This PDF pattern is simple to put together except for a more complicated assembly of the bodice where the side seams are hidden.

Penelope Swimsuit and Wrapped Cover Up Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: This vintage inspired swimsuit is perfect for a day at the beach! It features a sweetheart neckline, front ruching, halter straps, and boy cut shorts. A wrapped cover up is also included as a bonus with this PDF pattern. It's quick to make and is easy to take on and off.

Lola Leggings Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: Make a sweet pair of leggings for your 18" doll with this PDF pattern!  These pants have a nice and comfy fit and will look so stylish on your doll! They're great for exercise or casual wear! These leggings have an elastic waist and feature a stripe of coordinating fabric on the side.

Boys Tee and Beanie Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®:  Is your boy tired of wearing his sister's clothing? Then this is the pattern for him! This pattern is for an easy to sew tee for boy dolls that looks like a boy's tee. It has longer sleeves and a more relaxed fit than a girl's shirt. A beanie pattern is also included is this PDF pattern. Your little guy will love his new wardrobe!

Thank you for your gift of a free pattern. From the looks of the votes it will be the Peplum Dress. I can’t wait. …. so many ideas running through my head! My fabric stash is going to dwindle a bit. Even thinking of making a long version with the peplum in lace. Sound good to you?

Have a wonderful Christmas?

Thanks so much for your generosity! I will be happy with any of them, but I really really hope the Penelope swimsuit wins. It is so fun and different and I like that it covers up those funny leg joints that American Girl dolls have. It’s also a style I can see myself wearing in real life, or making for my girl to wear. Anyway, great choices, and thanks again :)

I vote for the peplum dress. Very 1940s. I have photos of my mom wearing a fitted blouse top with a peplum matched with a slightly flared skirt. Love the look. Wonder if it will ever come back in fashion? Happy Holidays! Thank you.

thank you for all the designs, Katie, and already envisioning the dress in several colours and designs. What do you think of a velvet evening dress-up with sparkling accessories? Black or a royal red velvet? matching slippers? Your designs are really catching! Thanks again.
