We save the ornaments to hang on the tree until after Christmas Eve service. Most are collected from travel, from my childhood, crafts from the kids when they were smaller, ones to commemorate pets we’ve lost. So we recount memories and family stories as we unbox and hang them. We finish with set of metal ornaments for the 12 days of Christmas while we sing the song. In a busy family, in a busy season, it’s a dedicated focus on family and time together.
My favourite holiday tradition is making homemade gifts for my kids and grandchildren and knowing that they look for them every year!
My favorite holiday tradition was going ice skating with my father on Christmas day afternoon.
