hello
Our family traditions have fallen wayside, but we are now starting new ones. The past few Christmas’s have included all our children and my son’s in-laws gathering for gift giving and lots of food. This year we had 2 new little ones making me realize that my favorite part of the holidays is seeing how our family is growing and how they enjoy being with one another …this year also included an unofficial adopted friend whose family was out of town. Love it!
Baking cookies with my daughter
Christmas lights are my favorite
My favorite holiday tradition is sewing gifts, (especially doll clothes), for my grandchildren.
My favorite holiday tradition is singing Christmas hymns in church, the scent of candles, seeing the Nativity set up with all the pine boughs and lighting. It’s a special atmosphere.
My husband made a life size Nativity in wood for the front yard, camels and kings, shepherds and sheep. It’s quite big. The neighbor brought her grandkids over to have them posel by the baby for Christmas pictures.
My favorite holiday tradition is candle light service. Music and candles to celebrate God. Nothing better.
My favorite Christmas tradition is gathering with family and friends to attend Christmas Eve Mass
We had our traditional snow crab legs for dinner tonight. When our kids were little we lived too far from a restaurant that served them so we began the tradition of buying them special for Christmas and making them at home. Of course, ours were cold by the time we cracked enough to fill the kids little tummies 😂 we got smart and made only a couple of clusters for them first and waiting to cook ours later! Now the kids are all grown up and crack their own 🥰

MY favorite tradition is home made ornaments even made some smaller ones for and 18 inch doll as a gift to a foster child
Beginning with their first Christmas, each child was allowed to buy an ornament of their choice and hang it on the decorated tree in the family room. We kept a log of the child’s name, the ornament, the year and where it was purchased for future reference. When they moved into their own home each child was given all of the ornaments they chose in years gone by. They now hang the ornaments on their own tree (along with the memories) and have passed the tradition down to their own kids.

My favorite holiday tradition is sharing my memories, with my daughters, of childhood Christmas celebrations and history that I had with my parents who are no longer with us.
Both of them lived into their 90s and had a significant influence in their lives also.
My favorite Christmas tradition is having Christmas Eve dinner with 20 family members. The lights, the music, the Christmas, and the chatter! The wonderful chatter and then of course exchanging secret Santa gifts. And my husband always buy “scratchers” for everyone, that is a lot of fun seeing if anyone won anything, or how much someone one. It’s usually only $1 to $5 however, one family member actually won $500! That caused a lot of excitement!
My favorite Christmas tradition was established when I was just a child. One of us would always get a jigsaw puzzle for Christmas. We would put out a big table, spread the puzzle out and, as a family, we would all work on putting it together over the next few days until it was finished.
I think that people should spend more time doing things as a family these days
My favorite tradition is getting out all of my Chriistmas decorations and decorating the house. I always forget from year to year some of the things I have and am surprised when I see them. Things are different now that the kids and grandkids are grown and live in different parts of the country but we try to make the most of it with phone calls, video chats and visits when they can,

My favorite Christmas tradition is hanging our stockings and then trading stuff out of them to get the things you really like.
My favourite holiday tradition is getting Christmas crackers before our Christmas meal. We all pull the tabs at the same time and (usually) we all hear the pop and crack sounds. We all wear the silly paper hats and laugh at the silly jokes and the little prizes. I usually forget I am wearing the paper hat until I go to bed. Nobody tells me I still have it on!
One of my favorite traditions is making an ornament/decoration each year with my mom
On Christmas Eve I cook our traditional Christmas dinner for my little family. Just watching them enjoy it and having good conversation makes all the work it takes worth it. Merry Christmas everyone!!!

one of my favorite things is having my son back in town for Christmas. He lives in the Netherlands and I only see him at Christmas. Love having all the family for Christmas morning breakfast.
My favorite holiday tradition is different now that we are older. It used to be decorating every room in the house, baking cookies and making fudge, shopping, wrapping a gazillion gifts. Now my favorite is visiting with or talking to our children and their families by phone. My husband and I watch lots of Christmas movies and last night we watched Christmas Mass at the Vatican. Closest we will get to Rome – and we are Protestants! Merry Christmas.

I have a Christmas angel that I bought when my girls were little. It is not elaborate, but from the 70’s – with a burlap dress. She is a crafty looking angel, as things were in the 70’s. She’s been on my tree tops ever since 1972, Always brings back good memories.
Since all the children are grown now, my favorite tradition is spending Christmas Day with my husband taking down the tree and putting it away until the next year. Christmas Eve is our traditional gathering for family and friends.
Being with family. We don’t do gifts, just gift cards.
My favorite thing about the holidays is being with my family. We all go to my son’s home open gifts eat dinner and enjoy each others company.
I love making flannel pajama pants for my family. Everyone opens the pj package first, then they put on their pj pants and open the rest of their presents.
My favorite tradition is making doll clothes for my girls. It was easy when my daughter was little, I only had to make one set. Now, I have 7 granddaughters, ages 1-12. I make an extra set to go in the toy box at my house!
My favorite holiday tradition is sending gift boxes to friends and family. Since everyone is so far away I order fruit from different suppliers. When not near loved ones it is impossible to shop for personal gifts. There was a time when that was my favorite thing.

My favorite Christmas tradition is family gathering on Christmas Eve. Everyone brings a dish to pass. We all take turns hosting the Christmas Eve party at each others houses. The host gets to pick the theme for the grab bag gift giving. For instance, one year was snowmen so the partygoers would bring a grab bag gift of a snowman decor (ornament, towels, candles, etc) if they want to participate. Another year, was a Christmas decor of a Christmas item that started with the letter of your first name. We all have lots of fun and lots of love to share.
Putting together many puzzles with family and friends.
My favorite holiday tradition is making dozens of Christmas Eve enchiladas with my daughters and sister.
My favorite traditional activity is baking for my family and rereading the Bible story of the first Christmas
It is just me by myself now so I don’t do much but when my boys were growing up it was on Christmas Eve we would read the Christmas story and then put baby Jesus in the manger. Then we would open a game and play it all together. We did this when I was growing up also. :)
My favorite Christmas tradition is decorating the Christmas tree. Each year each family member gets an ornament commemorating a special interest or event from that year. It is the momento we bring home to commemorate special vacations.
Unpacking the ornaments and finding the perfect spot on the tree to hang each one is a treasured walk down memory lane.
Tradition plays such an important part in celebrating the Christmas holiday with my family as it creates lifelong memories, including making the pudding in a calico cloth as my grandmother did.
…getting out all my nutcrackers, tomtees, and santons to create a multi-cultural holiday display.
