In addition to spending the day with family(the most important) is watching the children search for the Pickle ornament and opening the traditional British Christmas Crackers. It’s fun to read the silly jokes and riddles and trade the little toys.

I have loved your site and ideas for years. Looking forward to a week (maybe a year?) of creative doll designs.
My favorite Christmas tradition is a gift giving tradition started by my mother. In addition to regular Christmas gifts she would give each of us a box of cereal just to be funny. We have carried on this tradition but made those “funny” gifts more personal to each person. This year those gifts included ketchup (one son really loves ketchup), honey mustard (one grandson just has to have it for his chicken nuggets and French fries), Parmesan cheese (for the granddaughter who had a meltdown because they were out of it, cheese sticks (for the son who comes over and always raids the fridge for cheese sticks. Everybody has a good time with it and can’t wait to see what we come up with each year!!
My favorite holiday tradition is making homemade cinnamon and caramel roll for Chrisymas morning.

My favorite holiday tradition is sharing it with my sister & her husband, We have dinner on Christmas eve so I don’t have to cook on Christmas Day. we spend more time together. We play board games & poker for fun .
One of our favorite family traditions for Christmas is our ball game. Some 30 years ago, one of our children decided to throw a small thread wrapped ornament ball, that had no hanging hook, into the tree. It feel thru the tree and hit the floor. The game was on, and each child wanted to have a turn! We usually start with the youngest and work our way up, each getting a turn to throw the ball. On the first round, if it sticks we find the ball and continue until all have a turn. On the second round, if it sticks the game is over. Unless someone blows hard and makes it fall! The kids are all grown, baby is 20, and those at home still look forward to playing this game. The youngest daughter won this year!
When the children were little, our favorite thing was to make candy cane cookies and fudge. Nowadays, I sometimes still do so for gifts to friends.

LIGHTS! I could decorate my Christmas tree with just lights. And seeing the lights on neighbor’s houses is very cheering. But family around the table rates right up there too!

My favorite Christmas tradition is opening our Christmas Stockings. There are usually very special fun presents in the stockings. Just little inexpensive items. As a child some of my favorite items to get were: bath oil beads, PEZ dispenser and refills, usually chocolate gold foil covered coins, etc. What fun those memories are. My Christmas stocking that I had as a child was used as a pattern to make all of my children and now grandchildren matching Christmas Stockings. I just asked them this year if they are ready to switch to a new stocking and they shot that idea down. They want to keep using their stocking they had growing up. Too many good memories associated with the old ones,

Some of our craziest gift exchanges were un-named gifts, when it was your turn, you could pick a wrapped gift from from under the tree, or you could take a gift from someone else’s hands, they would then get to choose again. One of the most popular gifts was a big feather boa. It changed hands 6-8 times with much laughter every time.
My favourite holiday tradition is sitting around the tree with all the members of my family and opening presents. Enjoying each person’s reaction to each present and just taking our time enjoying each other.
Each year is a little different, but the last two years we’ve been celebrating on Christmas Eve, opening presents at midnight the 25th, then playing Clue or another board game. We don’t leave the house, we just celebrate with the kids at home. It’s been great. No stress. No anxiety. No running around from house to house. We just sleep in and relax on Christmas Day.
