My favorite cultural tradition is hanging mistletoe. My husband harvested it for me this Christmas from a local tree. Mistletoe is both a Nordic and Druid tradition. Since my husband is Norwegian and I am Scot/Irish, this has meaning for us both.
I would love to see cultural patterns from the Russian Imperial era: Russian peasant, Cossacks, Imperial ball gowns, Tsar/Tsarina, Anastasia & sibling day outfits, jewelry, purses based on Faberge eggs.
I find native American tradition and culture very interesting. I’ve watched a few powwows where the drumming and the dancing happens. It’s quite beautiful
A cultural tradition I am looking forward to participating in more is the Festival du Voyageur. It is a celebration of French Canadian and Metìs heritage that takes place in Winnipeg, Manitoba in February. A cultural pattern I would like to see the the Icelandic Fjalkona costume.
A favorite cultural event i tak part in is christmas at red clay state park. It is a tour and skit about the last stronghold of the indians before they started the trail of tears. I would like to see a traditional indian wedding dress pattern and male wedding outfit for 18" doll.
A FAVORITE CULTURAL TRADITION I TAKE PART IN OR FIND INTERESTING IS the traditional Fairs in Spain… A CULTURAL PATTERN I WOULD LIKE TO SEE OFFERED AT PIXIE FAIRE WOULD BE a Flamenco his and hers pattern set …
