Cultural Tradition:
My heritage is French-Canadian and English. Not too exciting. However, one of my daughters-in-law’s family dates back centuries in New Orleans. So, Kings Day (January 6) and Mardi Gras (March 5) will be celebrated with great enthusiasm! Fortunately, our whole family is included in the festivities. Meanwhile, one of my sons has moved back to Texas and although he was not overly happy about the move, he now is a true Texan! He is totally into the culture, pearl button shirts, boots, cowboy hats and even country music! In California the big “holiday” with nothing historical, is Cinco de Mayo. Parades, decorations, food and everything in between. And, let’s not forget the summertime BBQs and luaus.

A Cultural Pattern: Perhaps, something for Madi Gras.
Thankyou!

A FAVORITE CULTURAL TRADITION I TAKE PART IN OR FIND INTERESTING IS.. celebrating Christmas at my Swedish church with a St. Lucia processional and eating a traditional Swedish feast. A CULTURAL PATTERN I WOULD LIKE TO SEE OFFERED AT PIXIE FAIRE WOULD BE…a Swedish traditional costume or a St. Lucia costume.

Shar

I loved taking my mom to a Highland games event !

A favorite cultural tradition I take part in or find interesting is Dia de la Independencia. A cultural pattern I would like to see offered at Pixie Faire would be the traditional skirt and embroidered blouse of Mexican women.

Vanessa

A favorite cultural tradition I like to take part in is attending Christmas Eve service at church where we sing Christmas carols by candle light rejoicing in our Savior’s birth.
