For most sewing projects, standard sewing supplies are used and easy to find. For a variety of doll clothes patterns the supply lists recommend doll scale supplies and notions. Over the years we've come across a few of our favorite places to find these items:

  • Home Sew - Check out thier Cinnamon's Favorite Things collection! Find 5" and 6" separating zippers in both nylon coil and metal teeth styles, narrow hook and loop tape, tiny buttons, and buckles.
  • Zipper That Doll - Find tiny separating zippers and closed end zippers
  • Zip It - Find a variety of colors of invisible zippers
  • Girl Charlee - great selection of ribbing and knits

Now it's your turn! Where do you find doll scale notions and supplies? Share your secret finds and sources below. I'm sure together we can create the ultimate doll scale sewing supply resource list! A surprise gift for everyone invloved :)

“I shop for small doll type items all the time even when I’m not making doll clothes. I tend to find these small items here and there in different places but I’ve never found a place that would have everything I would want. I find small buttons at Walmart or I might find a tiny zipper at my fabric shop so it would be nice to have a supplier who has most of the things I would need for small clothing articles. Buttons that are small are also good for some of my embroidery projects so if they don’t get used in one place, they get used in another, but then I also have a lot of things like this stockpiled. I should open my own store one day. lol I would certainly love to win this lovely package of small doll items.

I have the hardest time finding lace small enough for doll clothes without having to cut it. I also miss the fabric pixie packs-they were fun and easy :) – but I am very grateful for all the links for supplies provided through the Sewing with Cinnamon blog!

“I have the hardest time finding any supplies to create doll clothes. I either cut Velcro down to fit or make buttons out of small beads. Other findings become a real challenge and what I can afford as I am on a very limited budget. Sometimes I’m able to take donated old doll clothes that are unrepeatable apart and use findings. I have purchased what I can from your venders and am so great full. Thank you for all you do. Blessings and bless all those that partisapate in this wonderful site. Thank you
