For most sewing projects, standard sewing supplies are used and easy to find. For a variety of doll clothes patterns the supply lists recommend doll scale supplies and notions. Over the years we've come across a few of our favorite places to find these items:
- Home Sew - Check out thier Cinnamon's Favorite Things collection! Find 5" and 6" separating zippers in both nylon coil and metal teeth styles, narrow hook and loop tape, tiny buttons, and buckles.
- Zipper That Doll - Find tiny separating zippers and closed end zippers
- Zip It - Find a variety of colors of invisible zippers
- Girl Charlee - great selection of ribbing and knits

“I have the hardest time finding lace and other decorative supplies at Walmart which is the only place to buy sewing supplies in our town.
“I shop for ribbons and lace trims at Walmart in the crafts department. My local Walmart does not have a fabric department any longer. I also buy a lot of elastic, and fancy detail stuff at the dollar tree store in the hair/nails products
“I have the hardest time finding materials to use to make shoes. I can sometimes find vinyl at the thrift store too.
I have the hardest time finding doll size notions and have stuck to clothes that don’t need little zippers and such.
“I shop for dolly supplies at Home Sew or at our local Ben Franklin" Also the thrift shops give a great selection at times! Lets just say I keep an eye out for great deals!

I have a the hardest time finding zippers, snaps, and other closures to fit doll clothes. Also I have a hard time finding items for embellishments.
