For most sewing projects, standard sewing supplies are used and easy to find. For a variety of doll clothes patterns the supply lists recommend doll scale supplies and notions. Over the years we've come across a few of our favorite places to find these items:
- Home Sew - Check out thier Cinnamon's Favorite Things collection! Find 5" and 6" separating zippers in both nylon coil and metal teeth styles, narrow hook and loop tape, tiny buttons, and buckles.
- Zipper That Doll - Find tiny separating zippers and closed end zippers
- Zip It - Find a variety of colors of invisible zippers
- Girl Charlee - great selection of ribbing and knits

I LIVE Pixie Faire and appreciate the free patterns as I have joined with women who meet each month to see clothes for the American Girl Dolls to give to needy children at Christmas. Last year’s theme was camping.
I shop for a lot of my doll supplies at sewing fairs and expositions.
I repurpose buttons from clothing, like shirts, I have’t tried zippers yet. I do have hard time finding appropriate ‘cuff’ for knits or sweaters.
I have used Home Sew in the past for sewing supplies.
I have the hardest time finding tiny zippers and buckles. I shop online across various sites sadly the postage charges are often far more than the product itself so i have to find an alternative closure type or decoration
