When sewing sheer, light weight or knit fabrics to sew using tissue paper between the bottom piece of fabric and the feed dogs so your fabric doesn’t wind up getting eaten by the feed dogs, they can be quite vicious! Also if sewing heavier fabrics use plain printer paper instead of tissue, it easily breaks away…

My favorite sewing tip is to not be tired when starting to sew and to read all the directions before I start…it avoids mistakes later.

My favorite tip is to use some fun fabric and add bling.

My tip is when inserting elastic, I put a straw through the opening and gather the fabric. Then I insert the elastic in the straw and pull the straw out and then ta da! The elastic is in the seam and all you have to do is sew the ends down.

Emma

My favorite sewing tip or trick is using the zigzag scissor to cut concave/convex corners.
