One of my favorite sewing tips is to always iron seams as you go. It makes everything look so much better!
My favorite tip is to have that darn pin cushion within eyesight at all times!!
My favorite sewing tip is to sew at night after my little ones are sound sleep. It allows me to get things done without the distractions during the day.
My favorite sewing tip is to purchase a box of Freezer Paper (costs about $5) and sheets on roll are 18" wide. Cut 11" pieces and then cut each piece @ 8.5". You’ll get 2 sheets with just 1" waste to print you pattern onto. I then put my sheets under a large book to flatten them well and when ready to print my pattern I put these into my printer tray and print directly on the non-shiny surface. Cut out your pattern pieces and iron the shiny side onto your fabric – no need ever for any pins and the pattern piece is ready to be used over & over again! Store your pattern pieces in 8.5″ × 11″ page protectors and organize by either type or designer or however easier for you to locate when you want to re-use. Once printed (since I have so many patterns), I put PRINTED in the name of the pattern right on my computer so I know it’s already printed/cut out & stored for re-use.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is widen seams from 1/4 inch to 3/8 or 1/2 in things like quilts and anything else that may be used a lot. I saw it as a hint for making kids quilts. Works well for adult bed quilts too.
