My favorite sewing tip or trick is to wash fabric before beginning to sew, press, press and then press again. I try to keep my patterns in very large envelopes then in hanging file folders with each one marked. that way my patterns are all neatly together when ready to sew. If I cut our several outfits I will leave them in the hanging file folders until ready to sew.
I love all the wonderful tips and tricks here and have learned a lot thanks to all for sharing.
Happy Sewing in 2018.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is to read the directions carefully and assemble all materials together before starting to cut out fabric.
My favorite sewing tip or trick is to pick up small amounts of fabric and notions at estate sales or at a local recycle fabric shop. Saves a ton on lace, ribbon, and trim and the fabric is only pennies per doll outfit.
My tip is to use a magnetic pin holder. A friend gave me one and it is great to keep all your pins in one place. If you drop a pin on the floor, no problem. Just hold the pin holder over the floor and move it around……it’ll pick up the pin no problem.
My favorite sewing tip is to always iron each seam after sewing. I learned this tip from my great aunt when I was a child learning to sew and no matter what I sew I iron open each seam and it really makes the item look professional.
