Welcome to DAY 3 of our 12 Days if Christmas celebration!

For our 3rd Day Of Christmas giveaway, we are doing a GIVEAWAY of one $100 Mood Fabrics eGift Card to one lucky winner. The gift card can be used towards any item available on the Mood Fabrics website (or in their stores if you live in CA or NY)! Woot, Woot!

What is Mood Fabrics? Without question, Mood Fabrics is the number-one shopping destination for fashion fabric in the world: The NYC flagship store alone plays host to more than 1,200 customers every day. Named one of “Fashion’s 50 Most Powerful” by The New York Daily News, Mood Fabrics has played a vital role in the fashion world for more than two decades and has built an impeccable reputation based on honesty, creativity, and hard work. The company prides itself on being a family business that is the manifestation of founder Jack Sauma’s dream, and a true American success story.

Recently, I made this Piccadilly Peacoat using a beautiful boiled wool from Mood! I also love their knit fabrics, they're great quality and work so well to create beautiful fashion in miniature!

My favorite fabric to sew with is cotton because it is soft and comfortable.

My favourite fabric for sewing is quilter cotton (batik) . I love putting together different colourways of the same colour. One shade for the sleeve, one colourway for the skirt and the third colourway for the trim or any variation of that. I can also do colourblock with the variety of colourways before cutting the pieces to sew together.

An advantage of having a huge variety of fabrics similar but in different colourways, in 2020, was that I had the materials on hand to create wonderful masks when the pandemic hit last February and ediicts in our area strongly recommended mask wearing. Once I figured out that spandex was a reasonable alternative for elastic for masks, and coffee closers worked well for the wire at the top, I was off and running.
