I sew knit/crochet primarily as a hobby on average, I spend 20-30 hours a week doing this. Its fun!
I love both sewing and knitting. I do spend more time knitting, but simply because it is something I can do anywhere! I love to create patterns for the 14" dolls, but I don’t sell them on Pixie Faire.
I sew to keep busy dury this pandemic. I order most of my supplies on line in order to avoid crowds. My granddaughters love my new hobby because most of what I sew is doll clothes- I’ve even made matching outfits for their friends dolls!
I am retired and sew, for the grandchildren and my dolls, as a hobby. I usually am at it 10 – 20 hours per week, depending on the season.
I sew as a hobby and as a way to be creative. I started sewing for AG dolls in 1995 when my daughter got a Samantha for Christmas. Now I sew for my collection of pre-loved AG dolls or for my great-nieces and friend’s little girls. I only have one grandchild, an 8 yo grandson, who thinks dolls are creepy!😂 It varies according to the season, but I probably sew 10-12 hrs a week on average.
I sew primarily as a hobby and relaxation. I love sewing doll clothes for friends and family. My husband jokingly tells me “I have way too much fun” . On average, I spend about 10-15 hours a week in my sewing room.
I knit and sew for dolls and sell them in my Etsy shop: Somewhereintimeadoll
My passion is knitting then crochet then sewing. How much time I spend depends on what I"am working on. my knitting I can take it anywhere to work on. My sewing has been easy thing to make, I have bought pattern but haven’t use them yet.
I knit and sew as a creative outlet. I create items for myself, my family, and to donate to charities. The time I spend each week varies with my work schedule and deadlines for custom orders. I have a small side business where I sew alterations, and also knit custom baby items on order.
My passion is sewing doll clothes and making dolls. While I do sell them, I enjoy giving them away to kids in need as well. I probably spend 20-30 hours a week sewing—thankfully, I have a very loving and patient family who understands my passion!
I sew quilts, usually for baby gifts. I also knit baby gifts.
I sew as a hobby. I make doll clothes, I rarely sew for real people. I also do dollhouse miniatures. I do it on the weekends.
I started sewing as a teen to make clothes that fit my tiny, petite body. Well 50 years later, that is not the case, now I sew a lot of doll clothes for charity. I never had little girls in my life to fuss with, so making girly things now fills that void.
I sew, knit, and weave primarily as a “maker-gifter.” I am learning to crochet. I try to work on creating every day. Daily tasks plus extra needs sometime can use up the whole day, though.
I sew primarily as a hobby, but would like it to be a home business. I spend about 15 to 20 hours a week on my projects.
I sew, crochet, and create stained glass pieces primarily as a hobby on average, I spend 4 hours per day.
My passion is sewing. Basically as a hobby as I just love making doll clothes. I spend about 4-6 hours a day at the sewing machine.
I sew as a hobby. I also crochet. I do it when Im in the mood. 😀
I sew primarily as a hobby and get to spend over 30hrs a week at my machine. Since I’m sooo over the “boy” scene, my machine is a very loyal companion. Lol
I sew and knit as a hobby to entertain myself. I like the challenge of finding the right fabric to go with the right pattern to create one-of-a-kind gifts! My reward is the excitement and smiles I receive when the gift is received. I spend 10-20 hours per week depending on the time of year and the projects at hand.
I knit/sew as gifts and home decor.
I sew as a hobby for fun and relaxation. When I was a little kid, my mother’s hairdresser made Barbie clothes and would allow me to play with a doll and the clothes while I patiently waited. One day, she had made like a dozen new beautiful outfits and she gave them to me to keep. That was a life-changing event for a little kid like me. I’ve always enjoyed making doll clothes and general crafts to use as surprises and gifts and would like to hope that I’m following in her tradition. Thank you so very much for your generosity with the Etsy gift card!
“I sew clothes and quilts primarily as a way to relieve stress and give me clothing custom fit for my body. Depending on the week, I can spend as little as an hour or up to 10+ at the sewing machine.
I primarily sew clothing for myself and my daughter as a part of my mindfulness practice, on average one or two hours per week.
I like sewing, sewed a lot of my daughter’s dresses when she was little. Like to craft, never mastered knitting – the turning around and coming back part. : ) Have made several blankets for people recently – I sew them together. Love shopping on Etsy – got several Christmas gifts from there.
I sew for the pure fun of it! I would love to sell some of my creations, but I wouldn’t know where to start. I spend about 3 days per week working on doll clothes. Some are for Faith & Friends dolls, which are the same size as Little Darlings. Lately I have been making lots of outfits and shoes for Ruby Red Fashion Dolls. I love the patterns at Pixie Faire. I love to modify them and make them my own.
I sew primarily as a hobby as much as I can. On average I spend 20 hours a week.
I sew primarily for 18” American girl dolls, and big projects once a year for the Marquette county fair. I also help with my grandma‘s business, sewing and selling 18” doll clothes. I spend a lot of time on my sewing machine, especially if I get a idea in my head.
I sew primarily as a hobby. I sew in fits and starts: some weeks I sew zero hours and some weeks I sew a dozen.
I do not sell my handmade items, though I do contribute doll clothes to my smocking guild’s annual raffle.
I sew dolls clothes and make backdrops for my granddaughter. We love to share our ideas and it gives us something special in common.
I sew, knit, crochet and quilt as a hobby to brighten people’s day. I usually spend about 3 hours a day (more on the weekend) working on some project or another. I don’t sell what I make. I love to see/hear how happy it makes people to receive what I make. A lot of what I make is donated to an area school for their holiday bazaar where kids can buy gifts for their family members. The school gets the proceeds to help fund their services and kids can afford to purchase gifts for their families. I love to make doll clothes for kids because of the joy they seem to get from playing with them. I feel blessed to be able to do all the crafts that I enjoy and love sharing them with others.
I sew and machine embroider primarily as a hobby. On average, I spend 20 hours a week in my craft shed creating.

I wanted to make outfits for dolls I have, to give to my granddaughter who is 6 now and to sell. For now I’ve only made outfits from Pixie patterns for my granddaughter and my collection of dolls. I do crochet and sew for myself some. In 2021 I hope do more sewing and designing from Pixie patterns and to put outfits on ebay and etsy. That would be fun.
I crochet and sew, mostly as a hobby. I donate what I make to the local hospital gift shop to sell in their “handmades” corner.
I sew doll clothes primarily as a hobby, but also with a small etsy store. On average I spend 4 hours a week sewing. (Except over the holiday season!)
I started sewing at nine years old by making Barbie clothes for my sister. My mother was the Home Economics teacher at our school, but I didn’t want to take that subject. My skills are far from professional. Therefore, I depend on the instructions of Cinnamon. I absolutely love beautiful dolls and designing and sewing for them. Now with three granddaughters, I get to really enjoy this hobby. I sew for the girls and alter clothes for them, but sewing for little dolls seems to be less expensive and more fun. The girls love my creations. Recently, I have made two sets of clothes for the AG vintage Kirsten dolls. At present, my favorite doll is the 19.5 inch Gotz doll. I would love to have a 14.5 inch doll and get the girls started with that size someday. Depending on the time I have or the needs of my family, I sew sporadically. Recently my husband and I both retired. We have stayed at home much of the year thanks to the pandemic. I’ve sewn more this year than ever before and I’m loving it!
I sew and crohet primarily for a hobby. The time I spend to do it depends on what projects I am working on. Normally about 3 to 5 hours per week.

I sew as a hobby for my granddaughter’s dolls and my own. I spend about 8 hours a month on this hobby (I also quilt).
I sew, crochet and craft as a hobby, I wish it could be a business… but I just don’t have time. I used to do arts and crafts for 3-4 hours every day, but now that my kids are in distance learning I do not have time anymore. Now I try to spend a little time each week teaching my daughter to sew.
I sew and I also do doll repaints. It all started as a hobby. In January of 2020 I started a home business on Etsy, “Scarlet’s Boutique” to sell my work. Unfortunately, I had to put it on hold due to the covid pandemic so I could make masks. My goal for 2021 is get back to sewing doll clothes and doing repaints to sell in my Etsy boutique. Oh, and I spend much time as I can in my studio, usually 25+ hours a week.

It is a total passion and I spend at least 25 hours a week in my sewing room now that I am semi-retired from my regular work as an Occupational Therapist in the schools. I get totally immersed in my projects…it’s more of art than it is business. It has been a great treatment for my anxiety!
I started sewing for fun and now have a craft booth and sell doll clothing and other craft projects. I probably average 2-3 hours a day sewing

I mainly sew for family but have also sewn doll clothes for holiday shops at elementary schools where the kids shop for their families. They were cancelled this year due to the pandemic.
I sew primarily as a hobby. It has been critical in helping me de-stress over this past year. Due to my crazy work schedule I only get to spend about 3-4 hours sewing each week. I wish I could squeeze a few more hours in as it helps me so much. Hopefully, I will get a chance once the pandemic is under control and I go back to my normal hours. I have purchased around 20 patterns from Pixie Faire and have only had the opportunity to sew a handful of them. They have all turned out wonderful and I am having fun deciding which fabric/trims to use for my next project.
I sew for my family, friends and charity. I spend many hours a week sewing both by machine and by hand.
I sew and crochet for the fun of it. I mainly sew for AG dolls and give them to girls in my life, but they keep growing up. I also have my own collection of 18-inch dolls as well as a few vintage dolls. Occasionally I make a simple quilt. I also love to crochet and make doll clothes as well as afghans.
