I sew because I love it! It is a hobby now as I mainly do American Girl doll clothes for my granddaughter. But I love making baby quilts and such as gifts for friends. I also crochet and love doing doll clothes and lots of scarves and hats for charity. My time is based on what I am in the mood for doing, so no real time frame, when the mood is on I spend many hours sewing, this year I made 166 masks and many other items for teachers and their classrooms. I just love to sew and craft.

By trade, I am a longarm quilter, quilting about 25 or 30 quilts a month for my wonderful customers. By the stars, I am a crafter! Never happier than when I am making something. I have a grand daughter who loves her AG dolls so every chance I get, I sew doll clothes. Most of my sewing these days is done to help others. I’ve made incubator covers for NICU units in hospitals, sewn (and knitted and crocheted) doll clothes to match dolls for the toy drive at a local Air Force base, quilted a cowboy quilt for our new church, and created wheelchair bags and Christmas stockings for veterans at our state veterans’ home. So, rather than spending a certain amount of time on sewing each day/week, I do it on an “as needed” basis.

Too many passions, too little time. Spring to fall I garden which also means canning and freezing. Since early March I’ve been baking bread about weekly along with making scones.
Sewing, knitting and crafting fit around the other activities, and add on wildlife watching (we’ve had as many as 19 deer in the back yard and they come up to the windows of the house). Also had 19 cats, down to 9. Life is full. Collection of dolls and their need for outfits increases.
