I crochet/sew primarily as my home business as well as a hobby, on average, I spend maybe 20 or so hours working on both. Maybe more it typically varies based on complexity and what type of item I’m making/working on. :)
I sew primarily as a hobby on average but also for my home business. I sell at craft shows and will continue once we are able to do them again. I love Pixie Faire patterns.
I have a website called www.sewideallyyou.com. Currently considering checking into Etsy as well.
I sew (and crochet, cross-stitch and quilt) mainly as a hobby or making gifts for family. I average about 5-10 hours per week working on those various projects.
I don’t sew too well but I enjoy crafting! I wish I had more time to spend creating things!
I sew primarily for my dolls, for fun. On average, I spend a few hours a week on various crafting projects, including sewing.
I sew, crochet, and machine knit primarily to create things for my children. This year for Christmas they all received a variety of hand sewn and crafted things and they all loved it.
Each of my daughters received an American Girl doll this year (my 4 year old got a proper AG doll and my 2 year old got her own bitty baby) and I’m looking forward to creating so many wonderful things for both of them.
I started sewing doll clothes when I was a little girl, moved on to sewing clothes for myself in my teens, then on to quilt making in my 20’s and 30’s. About ten years ago I started sewing doll clothes again for my nieces and am hooked! My nieces moved on to teenage things but I remain in love with sewing for my now growing collection of dolls. Something fascinates me about well made tiny clothes! :D I just recently started learning to crochet and needle felt as well. So far I’ve been sewing for my own pleasure, pursuing whatever fascinates me at the time.
I sew and crochet mainly as a hobby. I love making gifts for friends and family and for the homeless. Pixie Faire is a wonderful source for patterns, instructions, and ideas. Thank you so much!
I sew and crochet mainly as a hobby. I love making gifts for friends and family and for the homeless. Pixie Faire is a wonderful source for patterns, instructions, and ideas. Thank you so much!
I sew primarily as a hobby. I need a creative outlet and making little clothes is ideal. I usually just give the clothes to girls who have dolls or sell them cheap at a yard sale. I don’t have a lot of time to spend on sewing but fit in a few hours every week.
I sew to keep my sanity and because I love all the fabrics that I can use. I sew about 20 hrs/week and make just about anything that can be made from fabric—doll clothes, children things, kitchen things, quilts and Christmas Stockings. I sell at craft shows around the area and have an Etsy shop—aneedlestouch (A Needle’s Touch).
I sew both as a hobby, and for my home business. On average, I spend 4 hours a week sewing, and I hope to start an Etsy shop soon. Most of the doll clothes I create are from Pixie Faire patterns, as they always sew up so beautifully. Thank you for the chance to participate in these giveaways.
I knit, crochet and sew for dolls and kids as a hobby. My projects are used as secret santa gifts for children in our area. I especially like doing a fancy Christmas box with an 18" or baby doll and including an assortment of clothes, shoes and blankets for the dolls. I am retired and spend an average of about 20 hours per week knitting, crocheting and sewing.
I sew and crochet as a hobby and also to keep my daughter’s dolls with cute outfits ready for any occasion. I spend 10 hours or more a week depending on how my schedule looks
I enjoy sewing for fun – I have made doll clothes for my daughter’s AG doll. Recently, I am making masks for family & friends for the pandemic.
I sew as a business. It began as a hobby but kids and grand daughter grew up so I began selling. I spend approximately 30 hours a week sewing.
I sew primarily to sell my doll clothes in my etsy shop. I usually spend between 10-15 hours per week working on things I hope people will want to buy.
I sew as a hobby for my own dolls. I do not spend nearly as much time as I would like sewing. I tend to do better if I have a deadline – like a photo contest that I want to make a special outfit for.
I sew primarily as a side gig/hobby. I spend about 10-20 hours a week doing custom orders I get from my Facebook page “Deborah’s Darling Dolly Duds.” I have an Etsy shop, but I only sell masks on it right now. I am so grateful to the Pixie Faire designers. I took the design course, but I find it easier to manipulate a pattern that has already been made. I buy a lot of patterns on Pixie Faire.
Sewing gets me through the Michigan winters!! I try to sew a few hours a day several days a week. Back in the early 80’s I made doll clothes and sold them for some extra income before going to work outside the home. I retired in 2017 and bought a new sewing/embroidering machine for myself as a retirement gift. I pulled out my old patterns and started searching websites for new ideas and found Pixie Faire. I did my first craft show in 2017 and opened my Etsy site in 2019, LindasLatestCreation.
I sew and knit primarily as a stress reliever, but also to dress mine and my granddaughters’
dolls, and to sell at a local craft market just before Christmas. On average, I spend maybe 40 hours in a week because I can’t sit in front of the TV without a project to work on! The joy of being retired gives me lots of craft time. I do use many patterns purchased (or free!) from Pixie Faire! I started opening an Etsy shop but never got anything listed…
I sew primarily because I enjoy making things for others and doll clothes for my grandchildren. As they grew my love of sewing doll clothes turned into a small business and I opened a shop on Etsy. My Etsy shop is GrandmasDollCloset! I have loved using the Pixiefaire patterns giving me so much variety to choose from! Thanks, Pixiefaire!!
I sew and knit every day for charity. I sew Angel Gowns during the day and in the evenings, I knit hats for the homeless and twiddle muffs for Alzheimer and Dementia patients. I spend about six hours every day working on my projects. My granddaughter loves her American Girl dolls and the clothes that I make for them. I have sewn for about 60 years – ever since my mom taught me in grade school.
I sew, knit and quilt primarily as a hobby on average, I spend 10 hours on my projects.
I sew as a hobby. I love to make quilts and doll clothes. Dolls never complain about the fit of what I make them! I have made doll clothes for my daughter, my granddaughters and now am sewing doll clothes for my great nieces. I also give dolls and clothing to Toys for Tots.
My passion is making princess dresses for 18” dolls. It is a hobby!
I sew primarily as a hobby. I’m so busy!! I usually only have an hour or two a week to sew.
I sew mostly doll clothes and I usually use Pixiefaire patterns, although I also use some patterns I have bought on Etsy. My Etsy store (Dollyattire) is where I sell but I consider it a hobby because I don’t make a profit. I wish I would have grandchildren to sew for but I have been unlucky so far. The Pixiefaire patterns are very well written and I hope to try all of the ones I have in my lifetime but I will probably not be able to since I have so many. I sew about 4 hours a day and I am always excited to see new patterns posted on Pixiefaire.
I mostly quilt and longarm quilt for friends and family. Sometimes I make doll clothes for young girls. I spend about 20-30 hours a week.
I began sewing/crocheting/woodworking making dolls/doll clothing/doll furniture primarily as a hobby. However it is taking off and I am seriously considering opening an Etsy store along with selling in our local boutique shop. On average, I spend 20 or more hours a week involved in one of my doll adventures.
I sew and knit primarily as a hobby on average, I spend fifteen hours a week now that I am newly retired. I love to sew and knit doll clothes and I love to sew quilts (human and doll sized).
I sew primarily as a hobby. On average I spend about 7 hours (more or less) a week on my sewing. I sew doll clothes and items for my family. I sew for the joy of sewing.
I have been sewing and crocheting for years. Now I sew primarily for my grandchildren and for my dolls in 6"-14" size and 18" size dolls for my granddaughters. I probably spend 10 hours a week at the sewing machine or embroidery machine on average.
I sew for a hobby and for several charitable organizations. I spend about 30 hours a week sewing.
I see, knit, and crochet as hobbies. I grew up with my mom sewing my Halloween costumes, and knew I wanted to learn. Crocheting I learned from my best friend, and knitting I learned from YouTube! On average I probably spend about 15 hours per week on these hobbies, but that’s mostly because my daughter is home for virtual school and breaking out the sewing machine could be very distracting, plus I’m often helping her with her school work when the teachers are busy (particularly in math and science—she’s a freshman in high school). I don’t sell any of the items I make: I prefer to make them gifts or keep them myself.
“I sew and longarm quilt primarily as a hobby/home business. On average, I spend 20-30 hours per week on this.
I sew as a hobby, mainly making things for my family. I wish I could get more time to sew but with my young girls it’s only a few hours at night a weeks unless I’m rushing to finish something.
I sew, knit, and crochet as a hobby and stress reliever. My crafting time increases when there is a birthday upcoming. Christmas crafting starts in early fall as everyone in my family gets a new article made by me.
I sew, crochet & knit primarily as a hobby and spend between about 20 hours a week.
I sew as a hobby and as an outlet for my creative ability. When I am working on a project, I sew about 4 hours a day until it is finished. I might not sew for a few weeks until I start another project.
I sew for a craft show and for pleasure. Since I found Pixie Faire patterns that fit the dolls so well, I do not have to attempt to alter other patterns. Thank you everyone for the great patterns.
My stash was good for something when I made well over a hundred masks for family, friends, and donated some to nursing home in my neighborhood.
I sew because I LOVE it.
I enjoy knitting, crocheting and counted cross stitching. I returned to sewing when I discovered it was a fun and satifying way to lovingly add to my little granddaughter’s American Girl doll wardrobe. My work is gifted to family and friends and the prayer shawls are donated.
I sew doll clothes and quilt as a hobby and spend 3-4 hours a week on it.
I sew and embroider primarily as a hobby donating to charities and gifting to friends. On average, I spend about 5 hours a day in my sewing studio.
I am multi craftual. I sew, knit, spin, weave, quilt, do pottery, soap making, baking, glass bead making, jewelry making, machine knitting (very different than hand knitting) and more. All of these are hobbies. On average I spend NOT ENOUGH TIME on my hobbies. I look forward to the day I retire and can do nothing but my crafts.
I love Pixie Faire and Etsy! I sew and do machine embroidery as a hobby. I spend one to two days per week sewing. In the past I have sold a few doll outfits at our yearly Church festivals and a small school craft fair. Most of these were donations to our Church. Thank you for reading this!
I love to sew doll clothes. The bulk of my patterns come from Pixie Faire designers. Due to COVID and kids doing distance and online learning, I don’t get as much sewing done as I’d like. I still get in at least 2-3 hours every day.
My Etsy shop is DressMyDollPretty8
I sew, smock, knit, and crochet strictly as hobbies. The time I spend per week diaries widely.
My passion is to sew, crochet, knit and to do crafts for people to see them smile and be joyful in the gifts they receive from me. I love to see people happy. Makes me feel good to know I can do that for people.
I have been making things as gifts for decades, knitting, crocheting, sewing, tole painting then cross stitching. Growing up with Barbie I have always enjoyed the notion of scaled down version of clothing, shoes, furniture. I am thoroughly enjoying the “My dolly and me” theme with matching dresses, sweaters, and even quilts for my granddaughter. I have also been prepping for a career change due to company closure. Enter the Covid restrictions to stay home…music to my ears…time to knit and sew by the hour. Since last March every gift from my family was a request for pattern pdfs. Our new gift giving ritual has become … in a video call “Mom l have something for you” ,I open Drop Box to find a new pattern. Since we live over 10 hrs drive apart it has been as much joy for my daughter as it has been for me. Between the doll rescues and my pattern addiction, now 38 Pixie Faire patterns and counting, it’s now full steam ahead. Oh did I also mention I recently found out my husband hates dolls, never has. Funny it never came up before now. LOL
I sew as a hobby for my dolls and usually spend several hours a week on projects which are not always outfits. This year I made a large 40’s style camping tent for the dolls. :)
I sew primarily as a hobby—sewing is my meditation. I try to sew a little every day & on average, I spend 10 hours a week sewing.
I love to embroider and quilt. I try to do it an hour a day. I babysit my grandson so when he leaves i have a cup of tea and relax a bit with my hobby.
I sew, knit, crochet, smock, quilt, (anything that has to do with a needle) as a hobby. Sometimes I sell my items to those in my community. I do not have a certified business. I work on my hobbies about 10-20 hours a week.
I sew as a hobby. It is my creative outlet. On average I spend 12 hours a week sewing sometimes less because I am in school. I also have an Etsy shop called WonderandWhimsy dolls.
I spend about 30 hrs a week sewing. I make scrub caps and face masks for fellow OR staff, AG doll clothes for granddaughters, (my daughter finally said " no more please") I crochet and knit, and enjoy teaching those precious girls to create items for others. It is a passion for me, I give most of them away and get very excited when I find something new to add to my ever growing files of patterns and DIY instructions. Making gifts adds to my joy at knowing my efforts are not just sitting on a shelf but perhaps being used and appreciated.
I sew and crochet as a hobby. I usually spend a couple of hours a week on it.
that would be lovely to win but i think i’m only lucky with the beautiful sewing patterns and my dolls
I sew as a hobby – I enjoy making doll clothes for neighbors and family — recently all I seem to do is make mask - for family / friends and to donate. I enjoy sewing doll clothes more than mask -- though everyone appreciates a new mask especially when it’s made to order.
I sew as a hobby – I started sewing little toys, dolls, and doll clothes when I was a girl. Now I have two toddlers and love seeing things for them and my extended family! I spend an hour or less a week on it – wish it was more but my babies keep me busy! Right now I’m working on matching doll/girl dresses for my daughter and her cousins using a Pixie Faire pattern, and a teddy bear for my new nephew. Would love to win Etsy credits – there are many things there I have my eye on! Thanks for doing this giveaway. :)
What’s your passion? I sew, knit and crochet primarily as a hobby. On average, I spend 10 hours a week doing one or the other, depending on what time of year it is. My favorite thing to sew is Halloween costumes. I started making them for my children back in 1974 when my oldest child was born, and I continue to make them for my grandchildren now. They tell me what they want to be and I have fun creating totally unique costumes for them! Fun, fun, fun …
I opened an Etsy shop July of this year. The name of my Etsy shop is sew2repurpose. I sew mostly for the 18” doll but sew for the 14.5” dolls as well. As the name of my shop states, I love to repurpose “fabric”. I’ve also begun to rescue and renew Disney dolls by fixing their hair and sewing a wardrobe for them. I do use patterns from pixiefaire. They are the best!
My passion is collecting and rescuing dolls. I rescue dolls weekly when I am in town shopping. It is getting harder though as our thrift store is thinking of not taking toys. I am not a sewer but want to learn so I can sew for my dolls and my daughter’s dolls. I do not have any form of a store, but if I got good at sewing would maybe consider one.
I sew primarily as a hobby on average, I spend 5 hours in a week. I quilt and sew doll clothes for my granddaughter.
I do sell items made from Pixie Faire patterns. I have an Etsy shop (currently closed) called Lovie + Mil.
I love to sew historical outfits for dolls, and recreating characters from shows I enjoy. I also sew doll clothes for several charities.
I love making doll clothes for my granddaughter. She loves baby dolls and Barbie dolls and American Girl dolls so a lot of different sizes and patterns. I also do a lot of sewing for hot pads, quilts, pillows, etc. I love staying in my sewing room several hours each day.
Je suis débutante en couture et j’essaie de coudre des vêtements pour mon arrière-petite-fille et faire de même pour sa poupée. Je tricote et crochète et là aussi, je suis en apprentissage.

I sew primarily for my business. I sew at least 40 hours a week. I have an Etsy shop karenscornerdollshop.
I sew primarily as a hobby, making gifts, and also for local craft shows. I do have “regular” customers who request special outfits for the 18" and Bitty Baby dolls. I also repair/restore vintage and 18" dolls for friends and make clothing for the dolls when done with the repairs. This sometimes means making my own patterns. My great nieces are always anxious to receive new outfits for their 18" dolls for birthdays and Christmas. This year all three of them received memory bears made from clothing from family members, and themed fabric that represents something special about each of them. The two older girls literally have a trunk full of doll clothes that I have made for them. On average I spend 10-15 hours a week sewing in the evening and on weekends.
I sew primarily as a hobby for doll items & to mend items as needed. I only spend about 30’ a week at it, at most— wish I had time to do more!
I sew and quilt primarily as a hobby. If the spirit moves me, I will sew up to twenty hours per week.
I sew doll clothes for myself and granddaughters. I sew a variety of craft items such as bowl cozies, cold/ hot packs, etc primary as gifts. I sew a variety of items for myself only, such as curtains, chair pads, dollhouse decor. I do not sell on Etsy, although I had an account at one time for painted wood peg dolls. I now sell those locally. Good gosh, I have NO idea how much I spend on anything, haha!
I sew and crochet primarily as a hobby and mostly to make doll clothes for the 18 inch dolls. For the past three years, I have purchased a doll and made at least five outfits for it to give to a different deserving young girl each year at Christmastime. I spend every available opportunity working on some project.
My second passion is sewing, but it seems there is only so much a doll can wear. My Granddaughters love your patterns though. Thank you!
I sew for relaxation. I love the patterns from Pixie Faire – surprisingly, I am able to sell my fabric creations – so then I can create more!

I sew primarily as a hobby. On average, I spend 20 hours a week in my sewing room, dividing my time between projects for family, the Sew Powerful Purse Project, face masks for local business, and baby quilts for a couple of charity organizations.
My hobby is sewing. I have spent very little time sewing since I had cataract surgery earlier this year because I haven’t adjusted to working up close. In 2021, I’m going to stop using that excuse and get busy. I don’t sell anything as of now.
I sew for both hobby. I spend at least 25 hours a week in my sewing room. Sometimes more, sometimes less.
I sew AG and Barbie doll clothes as a hobby. I have always loved to sew and have sewn for the public in the past. Now that I’m retired, I just do it for me. I usually spend 15-20 hrs. a week until the end of the year and then Oct.-Dec. it an go as high as 40 hrs. a week

I sew gymnastics leotards primarily as a creative outlet. For the past six months I’ve sewn only masks. On average, I spend just a couple hours a week sewing.
Do you sell items made from Pixie Faire patterns, let us know!
I only sew doll clothes for my two daughters. I have never sold anything I’ve made from Pixie Fair patterns.
I knit and sew primarily as a hobby. I find it very relaxing to concentrate on a pattern. On average, I spend 7 hours a week on my hobby but when I’ve got a fun doll’s outfit, I can spend all day on it without feeling like I’m neglecting something else. (Do your chores first and then sit down to your sewing machine with a clear conscience.)

I sew for my family, as presents and for enjoyment, and now that my daughter is enjoying dolls, for them too! I am only able to sew an hour a week or so.
