My biggest challenge in sewing is time, and keeping my sewing room in order. I really can sew most anything when given time and proper instructions I one time made a skydiving suit for my son, just from drawlin around the piece of the suit, only had to adjust the boots on the suit. Took I think three to four different types of fabric. and leather for the boot part. That was my biggest challenge.

Thank you Pixie Faire for the opportunity to win this amazing prize.
One of my biggest sewing challenges is deciding which granddaughter to make a dolls outfit for first. Sisters Mia and Isla need to have them at the same time to keep both happy. Abigail we only get to see every so often so need to make several. Poor little Isaac has no boy doll so he misses out completely. I would love to win this for him.

My biggest sewing, knitting or crocheting challenge is trying to keep all of my projects organized! Between the fabric and yarn and craft items my sewing room is always a mess! I just finished making six outfits each for my granddaughters American Girl dolls! I also made bedding for their doll beds and I am now finishing up crocheting sleeping bags for their dolls also! I need more storage space to keep things neat!

My biggest challenges when knitting, crocheting, and sewing are time and ADHD. I will begin projects but it take years to finish them. Then when I look at all the partial projects I start berating myself for my inability to complete them and get depressed. I made a resolution this year to finish one project every weekend.

M y biggest sewing challenge is which project to sew next. My youngest grandchild, who happens to be a girl, loves all sports, and galactic figures. She will love if I sewed a galactic outfit for her. She’ll probably love one for herself as well. She is into ballet, tap, gymnastics, and all Star Wars and Galaxy movies and anything to do with these movies. Got quite a few toys that have to do with these movies. She’s a super student, but loves to play with her dolls and toys.

My biggest sewing, knitting, or crochet challenge is finishing one project before I have too many ideas for the next project. laughing The one problem I have, with crocheting, is finding size appropriate fibers that aren’t too stiff/inflexible or working them loose enough to drape well. My biggest challenge is getting all my fabric sewn up!! Or deciding which ones to donate to the annual YARD-age sale the local Clothing and Textile Advisors hold. Proceeds go to teaching sewing classes to kids (and some adults, too), so it’s for a good cause—and I’ve yet to think, darn! I should have kept that piece!!—but what if???? Of course, at almost-72 years, and having been sewing for over 60 years, I have accumulated a sizable stash! If we ever moved, I’d need to rent a storage unit!! It really is time for me to de-stash!

My biggest sewing challenge is going to be finally finishing a sewing exhibit consisting of hundreds of dolls in dioramas to raise money for cancer research that I started after I lost both my mother age 61, then grandmother to cancer. I was then diagnosed with a rare cancer myself the same year I lost my cousin to cancer at the tender age of 34. She had lost her mom (my mom’s sister age 54) and her 6 year old son to brain cancer within two months of each other two years before she herself died of a brain tumor.
I had watched too many loved ones die from this disease and I wanted to do something positive with the talents I had other than just making money, to help.
I was working on the project when I lost my best friend to inflammatory breast cancer 8 years ago on Dec 30. She and I met when she commissioned me to dress a great deal of dolls for her own collection over a 10 year span.
She left me her doll collection to add to mine so this is a very large collection and takes a lot of space which will need for me to find a house after getting divorced last year, big enough for me to finish this until it can move on to raise money to hopefully help fund a cure.
That is my dream and biggest challenge especially since I am bedridden for 70 to 80% of the day but it will not stop this dream from completion.
Here’s to all the sewers and collectors fulfilling their dreams this year!
